What have you done to your Miata today?

sounds like a lotta work for not a lotta pics lol jk is this an ICE infomercial (uhm) lol

Well...I did take a few pictures. Then when I got home I put the car cover on my car, and realized that I had my camera in my car...so...decided to just leave the camera in there because I didn't want to go through repetitive processes again.(alright)

Oh, and I forgot to mentioned that I cleaned the engine also with some engine cleaner (jerkit)stuff; it smelled good.

got the specmiata up on a dyno today...

111 whp, 99tq. not too bad for a bone stock 1.6l w/200k miles on it

Performed an on car test of the prototype VVT controller that I've been working on for the new engine build. I currently have a '99 engine in the car, but the cam/crank pickups are nearly identical from 99+. RPM and camshaft position calculations are correct, with exception of an occasional overflow/reset on the cam position calculation. The PID algorithm, without a tune and no changing cam position, seems to be working initially.

participated in my first AutoX yesterday. Super fun.. man.. I need better tires/suspension.

Rear shocks were leaking. Called Eibach and they said they would rebuild them, for free!! Took them off the car and shipped them out last week. Called Eibach today and they are on their way back, with new larger shafts, improved seals and new springs.

Car has been up on jacks since last Thursday. Getting withdrawls

I guess it's not what I've done, but what the body shop has done to mine today.

Those bastards!

They're trying to make her pretty again.

On another note, I've finally determined an appropriate name for her.

Lindsay. Two reasons.

1) There were these two girls named Lindsay that I went to school with that I had the biggest crush on. Both were petite and athletic. One ran track, the other cross country. Sorta like my car.

2) A famous b****y red head that's had major work done in the front, and likes to be driven hard came to mind... (like my car)

I drove the car today with the proto VVT controller for the first time (albeit using the '99 engine). Maybe it's because I haven't driven it in a while, but acceleration feels much more "crisp", if you will.

The current road-map stands as such:
Sunday (7/12): Pull 99 Engine
Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday: Prep/Paint the engine bay (in preparation for a full respray this winter)
Thursdsay/Friday: New engine install.
Sat.-Sat: Mexico :)
Sunday: Assemble finalized VVT controller
Mon-?: Dial-in.

I have 3 (working) weeks to finalize an experimental project. I really should have started a build thread.

Goal: No less than 150 WHP N/A
