I'm on Crutchfield site and after seeing the stereo I want become discontinued(Pioneer DEH-5800MP), I'm back in the search of a great headunit that either comes with backlighting that matches or comes close to matching the stock backlighting or has adjustable colors to pick from. Anyone have any suggestions?

Many alpine, eclipse, and some clarion units allow you to choose the back lighting color. Check their websites to find out which models.

^^ new alpines don't do it anymore. Alpine has gone so far downhill it makes me sad :'(

If I wanted Pioneer, which model would you experts recommend that is out now?

without a doubt I'd recommend the DEH-P880PRS

sooooooooooooo ridiculously nice. I don't know where to get it for a good price online, crutchfield doesn't carry Pioneer Premier last I checked.. maybe a local audio shop?

they should really become a premier dealer....crutchfield is such a good deal with all the freeness they give you. that receiver is so nice.....it makes me mad that they cluttered it up by putting on a front panel aux-input. i understand the convenience of it, but if i had that unit, i wouldn't EVER want a cord hanging out of it with the front panel flipped down. i'd rather have multiple inputs in the rear of the unit. but i digress

Always buy the primeir unit version, extra few features + 2 year warrenty for $10-$20
