Mazdaspeed OEM Wastegate actuator = $$$$$$$$

Fuel cut is only at full throttle and the car will cut out a second. It's abrupt like slamming on the brakes but just for a second. The car won't die it will keep running and the boost will drop off. Check that your battery terminals are tight and clean and the main fuse in the underhood fuse box is secure.

Its not stalling. just a violent burst like you describe. It will happen at 3/4 throttle too and before I replaced the actuator, I couldn't rev it past 4,500 at all without getting it. I'm not sure now if its fuel cut. My boost gauge should arrive tomorrow, so that will help diagnose it.

Atp makes a great wastegate imo. I have ran one for 7 years and it does great on the msp. Oem is way to expensive

Wow, talk about an old thread. My aftermarket wastegate actuator replacement never failed my MSP prior to me having to trade it in (2019). (drive)
