The steering rack in my 323 Wagon finally got too loose to pass inspection. I've been looking around for a replacement rack. I just replaced the power steering rack on my sisters '92 Mustang. It cost $80 for a remaned rack. I went checking the other day for the 323 rack and the cheapest I could find was $200. That is insane for a manual steering rack. Does anyone have any hookups for a cheap rack? I've checked on Car-Part.com, but there aren't any local yards with one and I'm not sure I want a rack out of an unknown salvage vehicle from god knows where.

Well...even more bad news. There are no remanufactured racks available. Only option is salvage yard or dealer. I called a good friend at a salvage yard and he located me one at another yard. I was hoping for a spotless rebuilt rack, but I'll settle for the used one and the $135 I'm saving.
