3rd gear abusers: who has replaced the gear and not the trans?

3rd has been grinding for some time, then recently started kicking out of gear after engagement, and friday night i was WOT on the freeway and it finally spun... 3rd gear does not exist.

upon removal, what was founf to be the issue? no more teeth on the synchro ring/blocker ring? gear destroyed??? i am going to pull the trans on a saturday and just replace the busted gearset. any and all opinions would be great.

Dude, that sucketh. Now you got me worried because mine has started jumping out of 5th every once in a while.

alot of things can happen in this transmission - weak shift forks, broken synchros, shattered or ground-down gears and broken differentials

i've broken a shift fork before.... luckily there was no damage to anything else, i don't think.
