My CDs tend to skip while I'm listening, and the skipping doesn't seem to have anything to do with the car's movement. It happens a lot more with burned CDs (even burned to high quality CDs at the lowest speed) so I'm guessing the drive is just having some trouble.

Car/audio is all stock, 2002 Canadian model.

Anything I could try to fix this? Thanks.

this happens to me as well, and i've noticed different results depending on the type of media i use to burn cds..

for example, my protege5 (2003.5) stock cd player doesn't like maxell burned cds (starts skipping after track 8), but plays imation ones just fine...

dont worry your not alone i have had many a rant at the stock cd player for skipping brand new cd's....the only way to fix it is to buy an aftermarket head unit.
