License plate adapter.

Is there a license plate adapter you can buy for the P5? The holes in the plate don't match up with the mounting holes on the vehicle. The guy I bought it from made a crappy homemade one that has damaged the paint, and I would like to get a more agreeable setup going if I can. Any thoughts?

There is a liscence plate bracket/plate that screw to the car. The liscence plate then screw to that frame. I'd say dealer or wrecker would easily have one for your car.

Mine came with one. I have seen the licence plate brackes for sale pretty cheap. Put up a WTB thread in the WTB section of the FS non-vendor area, and I am sure someone has one.

Why not drill new holes on your licence plate and just screw it to your bumper...Those adapters always rattle eventually.

I actually thought about that. I want to put some kind of frame on the plate as well to make it look less horrid than it has to (plates take away so much from a car sometimes), and I don't want to have to drill the frame too and have two sets of holes. One set in use, and one empty just looking bad.

Get a thin flexable metal bar with holes, or drill your own holes (10" maybe, go to home depot), center the bar on the bumper and screw the bar onto the bumper. then attach nuts and bolts to your licence frame & plate to the bar...Nice and easy, Japaneeese!

EDIT: Here's what I mean:

This is what the guy I bought it from had going on. I modded it today. Sanded, primed, flat black paint. Washers on back (plastic so they won't rust) to even up with the thickness of the bolt head, and felt adhesive backing on bolt heads to protect the paint. Now the plate hovers off of the paint a bit and doesn't rattle against the car when you close the hatch...score!

EDIT:
This being such a simple fix, why didn't they just modify it for the American market?
