Shift knob question

Good afternoon guys,

I was looking at getting my wife a new shift knob for the P5 (she doesn't like the stock one on the '02 we've got) and the MSP one caught my eye (the one that says mazdaspeed across the top..i believe its a 03.5MSP but not sure??)

Anyway, does this knob fit the vehicle? I had done some reading that suggests the p5 shifter has some metal that would get in the way of the MSP shifter fitting correctly.

If this is so are there any other mazdaspeed (genuine) knobs that would fit?

It will fit - just gotta break that o-ring. It's not a big deal to do so - just use a twist tie or whatever else in its place.

You don't need to break it, you can just you know.. pull it out. The boot is just glued to it. I'm still rocking that plastic piece even though I have a different boot and knob.
