I heard awhile ago that the Koni suspension was a completely new shock for the rear and only inserts for the front. Is this still true, or did they release a complete strut for the front? Tirerack seems to indicate that it is complete. Also, will they work for the '06 6's?

Negative! Not complete from the fronts. Depending on the area you live shops refuse the modification. Some members have done it and I'll try and track down the link. The instructions is pictures only(no words) if you have another car to drive after the fact you bought them and no shop would do them, there is a place you can send them to to do it. Gimme a min and Ill search for that info as well.

Before doing this you at least have to grasp the rear shocks and their difficulty level. http://www.mazda6tech.com/Articles/How-To/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=53&Itemid=1

I wasn't able to get anyone to do the fronts and not all the tools to do myself so they sit in the closet for future sale. Most people who run the D2 ro Tein cilover setup use the rear konis cause the kits don't have adjustable rears making the back softer than stock.

The rear instal after a few spirited words were said and blood was shedded was worth it IMHO. Picts!

Also to add This was used seldomely since most of the bolts were in spaces my hands let alone the 14 mm wrench would fit.

So you think just upgrading the rears is worth it? If I get a 6, I want to do it right the first time, regardless of the cost. I was thinking the RB springs and sway kit (possibly just the rear) along with the rear Konis. My concern is that if I just go with the rear bar and the Koni's, the rear may be too stiff. Thanks for your help.

Rear is adjustable from +=Lowest to ++++=highest. ++++ is extreme and you will be tail happy and airborne if you hit as much as a pebble let alone a speed bump. +++ is ok and ++ is good enought to start out with. If you can get a shop that will do fronts then you can get springs. Most who get coilovers get the rears cause most or all kits for the 6 have non adjustable whimpy rear shocks. If you can get all 4 done you will love the car. fronts are easier cause it's a plastic knob that goes on the tops and you turn. rears you have to remove the bottom bolt, push up and turn the desired direction. If you forget which way is stiff turn al the way and if the shock takes forever to come back down then thats ++++ setting.
