Spark plug gap

I have a Mazda 2.2 Turbo engine. Engine specification calls for a spark plug gap range of .039 to .043. I run at 10 psi up to 15 psi. What is the best gap to use in these engines? Right in the middle at .041 or lower? What is the best gap strategy to use in a forced induction application? Its funny but the Haynes manual as well as all of the spark plug websites say to use .044, which is just slightly above the decal on the underside of the hood.
