Boost Gauge Install

I completed the boost gauge install today.

Not really all that bad.

Had to mount it on the steering column, no other place to put it.

Every other place that came to mind had an air bag in it. :)

Gauge Setup and Installed

It really does not block that much of the dash, just looks that way in the pic.

Boost tube was put threw the firewall where the main wiring bunch went threw.

Bypass valve hose was unplugged and T connector was used like this.

Small piece of tubing was used to connect back to the manifold, no hose cutting was done.

Finished hooking up the lights for the gauge and that was it.

Took all of 45 minutes.

nice. although i would've gotten a gauge that matches the stock gauge cluster.

Flash must make the yellow look brighter than it really is.

It is really dull yellow. Could not find a gauge that looked better.

I live close to Summit Racing, tried about 7 differerent ones before going with the CF one.

The pod is also made of real carbon fiber. :)

so how's the boost curve? at what rpm does it reach full boost and does it stay solid until redline?

Boost spikes to 17.5 then pulls back to 15.5, stays there until redline.

Have seen it pull boost when the MS6 didn't like the gas that I put in. Was stated to be 93????

Pulled boost back to 10 PSI. (boom07)

Full boost is to be had at a little over 2000 RPM!!!!! (thumb)

I ordered this one Boost Gauge, I wanted something small and I could put anywhere. I'll post after I have it installed.
Wow..... Those gauges look great! The MS6 needs a boost gauge & should have come stock. (glare)
Wouldn't an analog gauge be better to check the boost though? (confused) (confused)

Yes, but then you need to add more digital gauges to make that one feel more at home :)

If weatherproof, these gauges would look neat on the lip of the hood next to the window squirters..... (poke)

Here's mine installed, followed Onedeath's well detailed instructions! This is the first digital gauge I've used, always used autometer lunar gauges in other vehicles.

Cool....I'd get rid of the clear tubing that came with the gauge and get some vacuum hose to replace it. Will save you from some problems later on if/when it cracks.

Whats the compression on the MS6?

And yeah I agree time to up the boost and see what it will do!

On the outside of the car? That seems a bit weird.
Not weird, You ever see a race car? Or the hood mounted factory tach's in the 70's?

But......won't work with this gauge anyway......

Tom,
The gauge is not waterproof but we do sell them to quite a few bike and
snowmobile guys with good success. If you soak it you may have issues -
we cannot guarantee you wont have an issue.

Thanks,
Dean

Is this gauge weatherproof? Can I mount it on the cowl?
