What have you done to your P5 today?

New paint on the rear swaybar, Fresh grease in swaybar bushings. Pulled the rear subframe and installed megan lateral links and trailing arms. And re-aligned my rear end. Those long 11" bolts that attach the lateral links to the spindle were a huge pain. Like 2 hours of wrestling each. The nuts came off just fine, but getting those bolts out was crazy.
It goes without saying I suggest you liberally anti seize the bajeezus out of them so that they move freely for years to come and if you have to ever remove them again, you can.

Friend and I had issues with them on our Escort, and I don't even want to think about the issues I'll have with my own Protege5 if I ever need to replace my lateral links...

Yup, lots of anti-seize. I had a very bent front lateral link from the previous owner so on top of the corrosion related stuckness, it also binded in the end of the lateral link. In the end I had to remove the trailing link so i could pull and rotate the hub enough to get the angle of the hub to match the crookedness of the lateral link. Then came the bfh, and after all that, the bolts arent even bent. which is good.

Sold it.
$3800 for an 03 with 102,600 miles. Automatic. Some rust bubbles just starting to form on the driver's rear wheel arch. Otherwise in good condition.

Well after going through a rough patch the last three months with my P5 - detailed in this thread - I thought I'd clean her up after the problem was fixed. I've had the car for five years this month and hope to keep her for more years to come:

So, I replaced my coolant catch can. Next I wrapped some of my IC pipe, and trimmed an inch off of the pipes for more ground clearance. Lastly, I reinstalled my front bumper.

Replaced a front engine mount, did Seafoam treatment, and replaced an exhaust doughnut.

Installed a pair of Hella Trumpet Horns. They sound significantly louder than the wimpy stock horn. It went from "MEEP-MEEP" to "WHONK-WHONK!!!"

Did some hand cleaning on my under motor parts last night since the Velasquez fight was on tonight. Got the oil pan, rear main housing and MBSP all scraped and brushed to remove the old silicone. Oil pump is next, then onto buffing rust off all the water tubes.

Pistons should be at the machine shop as of yesterday so hopefully another couple weeks and I'll have all my parts to get going on blueprinting and assembling my engine. Hope to have the car ready to break in before the end of July.

Any of you guys know of or seen a header for the BJ Protege that goes by the name HKS Estate?

Listed on ebay: https://www.ebay.com (commissions earned)

Listed as a 4-2-1 and seems to be pricey but maybe a rare JDM piece?

Looks like the AWR and Pacesetter header. Both are 4-2-1 and are extremely expensive and hard to find. Thats not a bad price for that one, looks to be quality welds and just needs to be cleaned up a bit

EDIT: I just did a quick google search. Its not HKS, the brand is Makishimuwakusu. The Jasma stamp has the serial numbers on them and you can identify the brand from the number.
