What have you done to your P5 today?

ordered hids for the p5 on sunday. ill have to open the lights and paint the bezels. eventually, these lights will move over the msp but thats a year away prob. thinking ill also try the ddm sealed beam modules as foglights for the p5. they use h4 bulbs, have the blockout reflector so i wont blind people with the 3000k hids ill put in them.
p5 might get the msp racing beat exhaust this weekend. was gonna swap over the msp tokikos/eibach sportlines, but i dont have suitable endlinks. not sure if the p5 has a front rollbar stock, but id have to remove the rear one, or use my msp rear links. all this adds to the list of crap the msp will need to put it back but i had planned to spend like $1000 on the suspension, $1500 on the transmission, maybe a little on the motor ect, but i need new wheels/tires too as someone sniped my msp racing harts. i guess if i got new wheels and my pope stuff/corksport exhaust were to all arrive a similar time, id pull the tranny from the p5, but im kinda liking the car as a daily.


original plan was to strip the p5 afte ra short while, make wifes black esgt look like an msp with the p5 body parts, strip any engine parts her es could use, such as her busted intake.. snipe the trans ect.
but ill prob enjoy the rusty b**** for a while.. its a shame. interior is in great shape.. but body just wasnt well cared for =(

Fixed my key scratch damage. Still there but much less noticeable. Busy Costco parking lot, douchebag parked way over the line and I squeezed in.

Used touch up pen, added 2 coat, wet sand then compound
 
received my hid kit today... sent me wrong bulbs.. wicked cool.

Nope, was at a bar. AWR is kinding shipping replacement parts, but in the mean time I had to park the P5, swap off the race wheels and fat track tires to force the RX8 into daily driver mode for the time being.
 
thinking about pillaging the msp for some parts this weekend. just have to track down some m8 threaded rod to make some endlinks. i found some local rod ends. but no one here caries the fine imperial threads. m8 is fairly standard, should be fine. 4x endlinks for under $50, should work great.

p5 will get msp tokikos, eibach sportlines, possibly racing beat rear swaybar, msp racing beat exhaust with cats deleted, intake made from hardpipes from the msp, front and both side motor mounts. possibly the msp sparco shifter.

obviously ill ahve to put the p5 parts back in the msp to move it around the property, but i had planned to replace all this stuff anyway on the msp.

replacement hid bulbs still in the mail, hopefully the correct ones.. have to paint an extra set of p5 bezels i have laying around to save downtime when i install the hids.. picked up a set of fogs from ontario that look to be in good shape. have to order another set of hids for those.. maybe someone has posted a how to in making a hid bulb work in stock fogs. if not, i guess shoegoo works for everything ha. should be a busy weekend of impacting rusted bolts.

kind of shocking but i think the p5 at 300+ k is nicer inside than my msp lol.. i guess i beat that car up a little bit as a daily =(
 
Valk, as far as the mounting HID's into the fog lights, it will take some modification of the lights. For mine i had to drill a hole through the back of the housing and metal piece behind the light itself.
 
thats np. i figured something like that.. i was gonna try to ddm sealed beams instead.. but $60 for oem..

Detailed my new to me Protege5's interior.
 
Button actually fell of. Ill try to solder it back. But how do you reset?
 
ill get to it heh. i had a spare set of p5 headlights i had baught before to paint, so painted the bezels from those earlier, and now im cooking the lights to do the swap. took a bit of time and rusted out bolts to get the bumper off. forgot abound the sag support in front of the headlight and broke one.. but no big deal. ill shove something in there. i ALMOST dont want to bother putting the p5 lights back in the p5 as they will eventually go to the msp.. but who knows when that will be.

since i have two sets, ill fix up the other set possibly for projectors. they need lenses from soemthing though. msp lights prob go in the esgt and those lights vultured for lenses. ah well, my p5 still rusty and ugly but will at least have nice lights heh.
 
Got my p5 lights painted and reinstalled. The polish need more work but they look tons better than they did.
Unfortunatly the cheap ddm hib bulbs don't fit well and ill have to make a spacer or.modify how the clip holds the bulb. Also discovered the driver side of the car has a short or something in the headlights. Ill have to do a fill relay setup from the passenger side. More work than I wanted but.meh.
