Guys and gals, need help finding rod bearings for my MP3. Here's the problem I know I messed up and drove my car @5800-6000 miles since the last oil change but I HAVE ALWAYS ran mobil 1 FULL synthetic oil and this last time I was on my way to get the oil changed when I heard a knocking tapping noise. I stopped and checked the oil and it was BONE DRY!!! So I threw a couple quarts in RIGHT AWAY and then went to get the oil changed. Now oil has been changed and STILL the knocking noise!
1) Why would I burn oil that fast? (no smoking problems that I have seen)
2) I had a friend listen to it (tech at Ford) and he said it sounds like the rod bearings! Is this sould right?
PLEASE HELP!! I drive @ 110 miles a day to and from work and need to fix this FAST!!!
