I just bought 2 remotes for my m6, I also got these instructions. They're not working for me. Did anyone have to do these as well?

Mazda keyless remote programming instructions:
NOTE: A maximum of 3 remote transmitters can be programmed.
1)Obtain all remote transmitters.
NOTE: Any existing remote transmitters not used during programming will
become inoperative.
2)Remove key from ignition switch.
3)Close all doors.
4)Open driver's door.
5)Carry out the following procedure within 24 seconds:
A)Turn ignition switch ON and back to LOCK position 3 times.
B)Remove key.
C)Press and release driver's door courtesy light switch 3 times.
D)Ensure doors lock and unlock.
E)If not, wait 40 seconds and repeat procedure staring with driver's
door already open.
6)Press any butoon of each remote transmitter twice.
7)Ensure doors lock and unlock after each remote transmitter operation.
8)If not proceed as follows:
a)Press and release driver's door courtesy light switch once.
b)Ensure doors lock and unlock twice.
c)Repeat procedure starting with driver's door already open
