A Roof Rack Question

Do any of you with US P5s ever move the rear bar around?

I have ours all the way to the rear and plan to leave it there. Since I don't like the look of the exposed rails, I also plan to take the long plastic covers that come with the P5 for when you remove the bars and modify them to fit in the space where the exposed rails are. With the rear bar all the way to the back, there will be two latches on the cover left to snap into the rail slots. Should be a much cleaner look. A nit I realize. Jim

Sounds like a great idea. The rack rails really need to be as far apart as you can get them, if you do any serious hauling - Like lumber home from Lowes.

Let me know how this turns out, and likely I'll do the same, as I never plan on ever removing my rack, those extra plastic pieces may as well get used somehow - They don't really look very good up there with the rack off.

Post a pic of your completed project.

It'll be awhile

I have so many other irons in the fire right now, plus I work 60 hours a week. I plan on making a pattern and then cutting the covers to shape. Jim
