How To: Make an AUX input for FREE

Yes, all you are doing is adding an audio input to your radio. This works with any device with a standard 1/8" audio output.

A/C clutch noise? Or Compressor bad? Video included

Thanks. I'm going to rent a car for the trip and fix the 5 when I get back. Better safe than sorry.

A/C clutch noise? Or Compressor bad? Video included

Or, maybe I should get THIS instead. It includes all the clutch parts.

A/C clutch noise? Or Compressor bad? Video included

I found a bearing at AutoZone: LINK I'm going on a trip and don't have time to replace it. Hopefully it'll last until I can get to it....and won't do any other damage if it goes out. I did put a new belt back on. Maybe I should just leave the belt off?

A/C clutch noise? Or Compressor bad? Video included

My A/C started making noise and not working all the time. There's a noise when the A/C is OFF and a somewhat similar noise when it's running. There is cold air when it's working. I took pressure readings and it fluctuates between about 15-45 on the low side when cycling off/on and I think...

2 problems with 2006 Mazda5. Dead battery and now like it's floored when starting

I ended up doing a work around. I put a dead fuse in for the room fuse. I soldered wires to it, attached a relay to the ignition circuit and an in line fuse and now at least i can listen to the radio and see my climate control settings on the display. the dome lights work, but only after turning...

Clutch quit working - pedal sticks to the floor - release arm is floppy

Another thought I just had: Could this have happened because we didn't have the flywheel turned or replaced when we had the clutch replaced? I did notice a little shudder when using the clutch.

Clutch quit working - pedal sticks to the floor - release arm is floppy

I think the release arm is shot. I'm guessing this can't be fixed without removing the transmission. Here are some pictures...

Clutch quit working - pedal sticks to the floor - release arm is floppy

I don't think it should be as movable as it is. I put the new slave cylinder on and it can't extend far enough, plus the arm is hitting the transmission housing on the far end. It doesn't appear to be working correctly inside the transmission - either something broken or popped out of place? Crud.

Clutch quit working - pedal sticks to the floor - release arm is floppy

I had the clutch replaced this last spring/summer at a private repair shop that I've used a number of times. A couple days ago, my wife couldn't get the car started and thought the battery was dead. It wasn't. The clutch switch was not being actuated when the clutch pedal was pressed to the...

How To: Make an AUX input for FREE

After market radio? I think that will be your best bet. Crutchfield has decent prices and I think most of their radios include a wiring harness and faceplate.

2 problems with 2006 Mazda5. Dead battery and now like it's floored when starting

Crap.. After putting the radio back in, now none of the lights for it and the climate control work. Some of them worked before I took it apart. That stinks.

How To: Make an AUX input for FREE

I just finished this on my 2006 Mazda 5 with 6-CD changer. It worked perfect. Thanks. It sounds great, but the volume is considerably lower when using my phone as the music source through the media button on the Mazda's radio. If I crank my phone's volume and the car volume up all the way...

2 problems with 2006 Mazda5. Dead battery and now like it's floored when starting

I bought the car used. I'm not sure if they're aftermarket or OEM heated seats, but with all the paperwork I got when buying the car, it did have the heated/leather seat brochure. Does that mean the dealer sent the new car out to a shop to add the seats before it was sold the first time? The...

2 problems with 2006 Mazda5. Dead battery and now like it's floored when starting

I took the radio out. Didn't find any evidence of after-market installations or other gear (alarm, etc) installed. Didn't see any hood pins, or holes where they may have been located. The only extra wires I saw were 2 red wired going down to the center console (by the parking brake) which appear...

2 problems with 2006 Mazda5. Dead battery and now like it's floored when starting

I really don't want to just start replacing parts, especially the expensive BCM (which I have found used for just $100 online)...but it may be that I have to do that? Any other suggestions? Thanks.

2 problems with 2006 Mazda5. Dead battery and now like it's floored when starting

I finally got to testing fusebox #2. No success at all. None of the fuses removed in that 2nd fusebox took the current draw below 310 mA. The only fuse in the car in either fusebox that drops the current draw below 310 mA is the "Room" fuse in the fusebox under the hood. To keep the computer...

How To: Make an AUX input for FREE

I found this PDF that says that the transistor is a 2SB1321TA, but that part seems to be out of stock everywhere. I did find a possible replacement on eBay - no guarantee, but it may work. HERE is the eBay auction. Mouser (where I buy my electronics from) doesn't have the exact part number in...

2 problems with 2006 Mazda5. Dead battery and now like it's floored when starting

    1. No, nothing in the OBDII plug, though if it was the car I drive, I'd either get an Ultragauge, or a Bluetooth wireless OBDII transmitter and Torque on my Android phone. 2. I suppose the radio could have been remove and re-installed. I thought about doing the AUX input mod so I can plug...

2 problems with 2006 Mazda5. Dead battery and now like it's floored when starting

Thanks for that info. I didn't realize there was a 2nd fusebox, but I thought that since taking out the room fuse caused the current to drop to near zero, I found the culprit. I will check that 2nd fusebox, however. Maybe something off that fusebox will narrow it down a little more. The battery...
