bad wheel bearing with 79k miles

The certified used car went to 7 years/100,000 and we're at almost 130,000 now.

bad wheel bearing with 79k miles

Update: left front wheel bearing is bad now at 129,000 miles. The fronts are much more involved to replace so I'm probably going to have it done somewhere, just not a Mazda stealer.

    3rd Brake Light

Old thread, but same deal here. One of the posts was rusted/broken. We noticed water dripping inside while on vacation and I pulled the light to find that. New on order. I wouldn't buy used for this because it's obviously a design issue due to the frequency so any used one you buy may be...

    Mazda5 real-world Mileage numbers

As a followup to the previous, our full tanks from the vacation: 21.5 100% highway in hilly SE KY/TN 21.8 100% highway in hilly TN/NC/SC 22.0 50% highway in flat coastal SC, a lot of sitting in traffic getting onto the island, driving around doing stuff under 35mph, all flat 25.0 100% highway in...

    Mazda5 real-world Mileage numbers

Argh, we drove from Louisville, KY to Hilton Head, SC today. 21.5 and 21.8mpg for the 2 full tanks that were all highway on the way down. 3 fill-ups in one day, yuck. We're loaded down with the 5 of us, luggage for a week, and a 16 cu ft Yakima Rocketbox on the rack up top, running the a/c...

Mazda5 Tires: Issues & Replacement Recommendations

Our 2008 has not been kind to tires. I'm replacing the current set next week after only 28,000 miles. Cupping... However, I replaced the struts/shocks this year so maybe that will help the next set.

    Mazda5 real-world Mileage numbers

It's not a van! Anyway, my wife drives ours 90-95% of the time which means to/from work/school/playdates for the kids/stores/etc, very little highway, and Acar (android app) is reporting 21.2 for a 3 month average last time I looked. We (5 of us, probably around 600lbs) did a highway trip and...

HELP! Rear a/c vent not blowing air!!!!

You guys are over-thinking it. The damper for the rear air is positioned on the hvac housing *before* the heater core. They didn't redesign the entire hvac housing to add the rear air, they just added a damper and duct with a blower in the duct. And now back to the original topic.

HELP! Rear a/c vent not blowing air!!!!

Yep, that's what I was looking at. (nuke electrician on subs then industrial electrician then automation engineer)

HELP! Rear a/c vent not blowing air!!!!

Interesting, I never saw 12v. I have no blown fuses, and that actuator is probably powered off the hvac system anyway so the whole thing probably wouldn't work if that were the problem. I like your solution. I'll have to dig more into things to see if I can find out which controller handles...

HELP! Rear a/c vent not blowing air!!!!

I actually thought about that. You could probably get a string around it and have the panel keep it in position, though the damper is spring-assisted shut. With it open all the way, it doesn't appear the rear blower does a whole lot. Low speed on the rear doesn't change the airflow at all...

HELP! Rear a/c vent not blowing air!!!!

Old thread, but since I just worked on it, here goes. It's the rear vent actuator and it's behind the panel right beside the gas pedal on our '08. There is a small metal brace that has to come off with 2 nuts and 2 bolts (both 12mm) then you can remove 3 phillips head screws and it will slide...

How-To replace the Micron air cabin filter

One note about that panel that was suggested to be tossed out: it's a kick panel to keep you from cutting your feet/shoes on stuff inside the dash. Keep it. BTW, 20 minutes to change the filters, stubby screwdriver and some flexibility helps.

What have you done to your Mazda5 today?

Rotated tires to verify one is a 'loud' one, changed rear shocks, oil/filter change. Next up is the front struts and isolate which pulley has a bad bearing and is causing all the whining.

    Post pics of your Mazda5

From yesterday. You can barely make out the roof rack. Obviously this was right after driving it.
