Thanks!
I don't know why I waited so long to do this given I've got boxes of old computer parts always sitting around. I found a 4 pronged computer cable that worked along with a nice 3+ foot headphone cable (think old school, not ear bud cable), ran that underneath the shifter/cupholder area...
So I'm not a heavy guy, maybe 165, and the other day I was getting in the car and it felt like the left bolster collapsed. Since then the seat has rocked around a bit while driving but otherwise functions normally. Here's a pic of what I found after taking the side skirting off. That bracket...
I bled the clutch yesterday on my 07 MS6 and realized it's actually easier doing it from the top versus from underneath. The clutch line routes over behind the radiator and the bleed nipple is up top towards the center of the engine. If you've got a CAI or short ram there is plenty of room to...
Yeah, thanks for the redo on this. I had the parts ordered many months ago and finally did this the other weekend. VERY nice for the occassional trip to Home Depot for long lengths of trim work or whatever.
Feel kinda dumb asking this, but have searched everywhere. I'm going to upgrade all my wormgear clamps to t-bolts and figure I may as well upgrade to silicone boost tubes. I'll get them from hosetechniques and trim to fit if necessary. Trouble is, what is the ID of these?
Rear is 45' bend...
I just replaced all 4 of mine today with HPS pads. At 50k still a bit of life left so the rotors were in good shape.
I've always had issues with the rear pads sticking with the ebrake on especially after a rain. I could not see that they are adjustable.
Curious, I just used a pliars to rotate...
ah ok. well the stage 2 mscai 91 is the first map I've tried and it seems like a good fit, very smooth, nothing weird happening, plenty of power. A vast improvement over stock that really takes the sting out of the price of the ap.
well, finally got my AP. beware velocityfactor.net - geez, claim free overnight -translation when the guy gets around to finally getting it to fed ex two days later then sending it 2 day instead of claimed overnight, you'll get it a full week later, yay! (meantime I finally see one on a local...
I should clarify, I only get KR readings on the Dashhawk. Never felt/heard real knock. Typical 4th gear, 3-4k rpm, level throttle KR readings that everyone seems to get. Annoying. I'll definitely try a 91 map if the 93 seems off. Only 1 chain of stations around me that even pumps 93 so I...
Gary, I've found that forcing the car to adjust during part throttle knock spikes seems to eliminate them."
Very interesting, I'll have to try that. I always let off/on the gas or shift, maybe time to let it learn.
AP comes tomorrow, have a feeling pretty much anything is going to be better...
map recommendation
Okay, Professor Blender, if you'd be so kind.
Just putting an order in for an AP -here's what I got:
97 MS6, in Minnesota
Fujita CAI
PG TIP
Forge BPV
ETS TMIC
SMS Test Pipe
Denso ITV22 (stock gap, .030-.032)
93 Octane (BP gas with ethanol)
I get a lot of KR in all the...
My perfect solution:
Take my Forge v.1
Unscrew lid
Clean very well with alcohol
Apply thin bead of high temp red silicone around ring where piston hits lid, smooth out so you've got maybe an 1/8" layer.
Cure overnight
No more ping, just a nice swoosh, thwap sound
That ping was annoying as heck...
same thing happened to me earlier this week when it dropped into the low 30' F here in MN. CAI,TIP,ETS,TP. Mine was between 2nd and 3rd at 4-5krpm or so, stumbled and bucked, felt like a sudden boost leak or something. Makes a guy nervous.
Hey, fellow Minnesotan. I had a 93 VR4 up until 2 yrs ago, loved that beast. 07 MS6 GT for a few months now and love it. From all the research I did before purchasing it seems these are very reliable cars, just not meant to be rallied or abused obviously since they are meant to be more luxury...
I, too, was very happy with the fit of the PG inlet. I had read on some other forum that there was a black metal bracket on the 07s that had to be removed for fitment. Not the case with the PG. Once installed I've got a good half inch clearance between the inlet and that black bracket (that...
