and as an FYI, i use a 205/60 16 as my winter tires with no issues.

when you say fit kit, what did you order? the towers? and what does the craigslist rack come with? the 5 has factory mounts for racks that are definatley the way to go. i wouldnt use the type that sit on the roof and clip at the windows.

im able to run a playstation 2 and a personal dvd player off the back plug. i use one of those plug spltters from radio shack. i have the dvd player in one, and an inverter plugger into the other. then run the ps2 off that. it made a 17 hour trip to florida and back with no problem.

i run a 205/60 16 snow tire with no problem. i think the 215 would fit, imo.

I do it because the car only sees about 10k miles a year. So to add a few more dollars to do it twice a year is worth it to me. I am under there doing the oil. so its no big deal to undo one more bolt to drain the atf. After i drain the atf, i measure what came out and its usually almost exactly...

ive switched to the castrol multi import atf. i drained the original mazda fluid at 50k, and it was black like oil. i got all that out and now just do a 3 qt "spill and fill" every 5k when i change the oil. The castrol is a nice red color when i drain it out and seems to be holding up well...

not sure if youre worried about the rim or tire size, but i run a 205/60 16 on steelies for my snows with no problems. its a 2006 sport.

FWIW, the subject of the euro roof rails was discussed here in 2006-07 when the car first came out in the U.S. (im sure the thread is still up) From what i remember, it was researched extensively and the conclusion was the US model DOES NOT have the required mounting locations to use the euro...

BECAUSE it's a pain to do an oil change is exactly why i do it myself. i take my time and remove the belly pan and am careful when removing the filter(cartridge type). i dont think any quicklube or dealer would be as careful as i am with my own car. when im done, i know %100 its done right...

fyi i run a 205/60 16 winter tire and am very happy. i bought from tire rack but be aware not to wait too long in the past tire rack has run out of the mazda steel rims.

i had the same issue but then just gave the nut that holds it down a few more turns and it tightened down nice. i did have to hold the allen wrench in the top of the threaded stud bolt so it wouldnt turn as i tightened the nut.

i know youre asking about a yakima system-but if youre going to buy all new parts i would highly recommend the thule set-up. it uses the pre set mouting points from the factory and is pretty much like its welded on. i use it and love it.

i had that happen with a subaru i had once. it took heat and a 5 foot 2x4 to get that wheel off. ever since then i put grease on a wheel EVERY time i have it off. havent had one stick since. even with harsh Ohio winters and road salt.

yeah great. enjoy having to use premium gas and getting 15mpg. (sad2)
