    Joint Meet w/ Edmonton

I'm up for wherever.. any excuse for road trips is good enough for me :).. I can't remember exactly what we paid.. but when I was through there at new years.. we were pretty shocked.. (they significantly raised it last year).. it was about 65 bux for 4 days.. myself, my car, and 1 passenger.. so...

    Police RX-8!!!

I was thinking about this (saw a photo radar minivan today).. those minivans aren't cheap either.. you can spend 35k CAD on a minivan relatively easily... 2004 rx-8 starts at 37.. and the rx-8 is probably WAY more effective for catching speeders (who expects an rx-8 to be a cop?? everyone speeds...

I get all the normal compliments you would expect a nice lookin red p5 to get ;) ..and the honda comments.. but this convo makes me proud :).. a friend who came back from an extended stay out of the country..hadn't seen my car yet.. me: "throw your luggage in the car" friend: "is there enough...

    Emblem Painting

Pic is a little dark.. sun was going down.. but you get the idea.. painted and clear coated front emblem and that trim piece above it (normally black on stock).. Color matched paint and clear coat was about 20 US.. it's expensive here for some reason.. but worth every penny IMO.. and it was...

    How-To: Disabling Automatic A/C - Defrost modes

I have a Canadian P5 and AC turns on automatically with defrost.. same as the US models.. Great write up.. I did this mod last year and have loved it.. I find it incredibly insulting that Mazda trusts me to DRIVE the car, but not handle the "complexities" of their vent system.. Saved lots on...

    Edmonton Protege (Mazda) Club

Hey!! :) Don't know when our stuff is going on yet.. think it depends on the autox schedule, when calgary has their stuff, and the Mazda in the Mountains event (which you have GOT to go to.. if the planning goes better this year and the date is sorted out soon, I'll do my best to be there!!! :)...

TSB on rusting rotors in Canada

There isn't a TSB for this in canada.. and it's quite unlikely contacting mazda directly will do anything but waste your time.. It doesn't impact the functionality of the car, and is just for looks. Mazda Canada considers it normal (and it is, happens on most cars) and they apparently don't mind...

    Mirror Defrost

Well it's warmed up here (edmonton) .. its currently -30C and -43C with windchill.. so I'm going to actually go out tonight.. with any luck my drivers side window will unfreeze so I can look really ghetto with my hand out the window scrapping my mirror off with a credit card while driving down...

    brrrrrrrrrrr

It IS damn cold here in Edmonton.. Pro5 gave a really good suggestion.. go to a car wash and use the hot water to thaw it out.. and after you wash your car.. towel dry ALL the doors and the frame where the doors close.. including the hatch.. so then your chances are better that atleast one of...

    Generic Turbo Question

Ok.. so it's completely based on how open your throttle is? Edit: I mean as far as the wastegate 'management' .. not how fast the turbine would spin if there was no release going on.

    Generic Turbo Question

Ok.. everyone else seems to know what's going on except me.. but I want to understand this.. so I will ask more questions! How does the turbo know the car is under significant load.. IE - 3k when your ripping of the line at a red light is significant load.. but 3k when your cruising on the...

What do u hate about the P5?

    1. it does rattle.. 2. I think this is related to the roof racks and/or moonroofs without wind deflector.. I have a canadian p5 (no roof rack) and a wind deflector on my moonroof.. and can cruise on the highway with my moonroof open and I'm always surprised how quiet it is.. 3. *I* think the...

A Stupid Women Crash My Car Yesterday

It's not fair to say that women do all the dinging, and everyone always lets them off the hook.. that's your experience.. and your perceptions... you don't and can't have enough data to prove that US, or north america or world wide, women have unreported accidents more than men.. because...

A Stupid Women Crash My Car Yesterday

Great post! I was hoping there would be some sort of intellegent replies.. Yes, a womans ability to concentrate on multiple things has its goods and bads. (I believe the way it works is men typically think with the right side of their brain while women utilize both sides at the same time more...
