Here's the bracket that I'm talking about:

Need the bracket that attaches to a 3rd gen Protege/Protege5 transmission gear selector. Will take the entire control rod if it's easier.

There is a shifter control rod that goes to the transmission gear selector and attaches using a bracket on a bushing. I need that whole control rod or just remove the rivet (or sawzall control rod towards the end) and ship me that bit.

So I put my motor back together last night. Cold compression reading was 185-155-190-190. Put in some oil into cyl 2 and it read 190. Cold readings on Mahk's motor were 200-195-195-205. So yeah, Mark's motor it is! Pulling Mark's motor tonight.

I haven't put it together yet! Hopefully tonight or tomorrow morning.

So my roommate's compression tester was busted. I bought a new one at Sears, much higher quality with rubber padding. Mahk, your old engine has compression of 205-195-195-215. The busted compression reader said 90-90-100-100! Since the busted compression reader read 115 on my blue P5's engine...
