To those in a Mazda American Credit Lease....

Depends on how you negotiate the lease and deals at the time. Leased my Acura TSX w/Nav for $380 a month, 0 down, 15K per year. I used to get new cars every 3 years. Leasing was an easy way to support my habit and I drive very little so I never got close to mileage limits. Park my car in a...

To those in a Mazda American Credit Lease....

I'm on my second lease. My first was a 2005 Acura TSX from US Bank. It was a 3yr 45K mile lease. At 32 months in I traded it in (with just 33K miles) to lease a 2008 Mazda5 from Mazda American Credit. There were no issues as I was $800 positive in the Acura at trade in. I'm 33 months into the...

    2010 hood vs 2008

Is the 2010 hood different from the 2008 model? Found a place online that has 2010 Carbon Fiber hoods....wondering if it will fit.

    Residual Values

I'm 2/3rds the way through my 3 year lease on my 2008 Mazda5 GT. This is my second lease. Previous was a 2005 Acura TSX. I drive very little. I leased my Mazda5 March 2008 and currently have 16200 miles. With my Acura my "trade in" value was always higher than my residual + remaining payments...

Returning your lease to the dealership

On my last lease, 2005 Acura TSX, I traded it in 2 months early and "made money". I was way under miles at 32K miles on a 39 month 45K mile lease (first lease so I shot high on miles). I sold my car to Carmax and took a $1700 check with me. On my current 2008 Mazda5 GT lease I am 22 months in...

    Location for OEM GPS antenna

This is from another poster, MazdaDude who helped me out. You will need to pop the instrument cluster out to get to the connector needed. Once you get to the connectors, there are two plugs that plug into the instrument cluster. The plug you are needing to connect the VSS wire to is in the...

    Location for OEM GPS antenna

dome up. The VSS wire was very easy. The hood of the spedometer cluster literally pulls straight off. I tapped the VSS from there. For the parking brake..well I shorted out that wire for the NAV so it thought it was always on. I will see if I can find the VSS info from an old post.

Rear speaker access and blue turn on wire

Hmm never thought about using the 12V outlet for a turn on wire. I might use the front outlet as I already have that cable run up there. Thanks for the tip. I'm still very new to car stereo, learning as I go.

Rear speaker access and blue turn on wire

Eh....I use the Zune Pass ($15 a month for unlimited music for up to 3 devices). All the music is DRM protected so playing off a flash drive/SD card is out. I drive so little (average 20 miles a day/600 miles a month/35 minutes a day) that it doesn't make much financial sense. Thanks for the...

    Location for OEM GPS antenna

I had my AVIC D3 GPS antenna installed under the top of the dash dead center. Velcro'd it to a metal post. Worked flawlessly.

Rear speaker access and blue turn on wire

I previously had a Pioneer Avic D3 (with bluetooth, XM and backup camera) installed along with a Kenwood Kscsw10 subwoofer. I decided to take it all out as I don't really use any of it. I have free turn by turn with my G1 and music thru Zune (instead of XM). I am putting the stock radio back...

TPMS valve broke off while putting in air

I was checking my tire pressure and adding a few PSI's to the rear driver side tire. This tire has been leaking air over the past few days. I was planning on getting it checked the next day. When I unscrewed the air hose the air valve literally snapped off. All the air in the tire of course...

Whatis the proper pressure for 17" tires

I'm running 42/40. I haven't had problems. I have them higher than normal as I don't drive much. My car sits 3-4 days between use. I drive 600 miles a month and have had a tracked average of 27 MPG over the last 6 months. Most trips are 10-15 miles in the city with the longest EVER trip of 80...

    Subwoofer w/standard system?

I installed the Kenwood KSC-SW10 to my Mazda5. The head unit isn't stock, but the rest of the speakers are. I am very happy with the price/bass ratio. I bought it on Amazon.com for under $150.

Is it possible to move the driver's seat back a couple of inches?

Drilling new holes would be a big no-no. If you were ever in an accident and the seat broke free I don't think any insurance company would cover damages if the seat came free/moved. I'm 6'0 with long legs and size 14 shoes. I have an 08 GT and have no problems with the seat tilted back a bit and...

Thinking of installing a powered sub. Easy?

Installation done. Getting the power cable from the cabin to the battery was a little problematic. I am still very new to car stereo. I am a computer geek and pilot first. That being said I ended up running it up the driver side pillar and found a channel that runs behind where the driver side...

    Extended Warranty

I haven't bought a Mazda5 extended warranty but I did buy one for my wifes 2004 Toyota Prius. The dealer (part of the huge damn Gulf States Toyota Distributor...but thats another rant) wanted $1900. Wouldn't budge. I bought it from a dealer online which I found in the Pruischat.com forums for...
