[SoCal] Sachs Super Touring shocks and struts set for Gen1 Mazda3

The fronts were replaced under warranty. The rears were tested within spec by Koni and returned to me. I don't remember exactly how many miles were on them. It's a lifetime, unlimited mileage warranty, anyway. None of them were leaking, but I could tell when I pulled the fronts that they weren't...

[SoCal] Sachs Super Touring shocks and struts set for Gen1 Mazda3

SOLD! Ran these on my girlfriend's 2009 Mazda3 2.0 i Touring for a few months while the Koni FSDs were out for warranty. They handled better than I was expecting for stock replacements. Pitch (braking, accelerating) and roll (turning) were well controlled. Road noise was well damped. And...

Anyone know of any place that has koni struts in stock?

Protege Garage is a good bet. Also try shox.com, and tirerack, and of course ebay. This place was recommended by Lee Grimes of Koni: http://classicgarage.com/3.html Good luck!

Mazdaspeed RAYS Forged 18 x 7.5 wheels, w/ Hankook V12s, Center Caps, TPMS

These wheels have served me well over the past two years and 30K miles, but with the road conditions around here, I wanted some more rubber (sidewall) on the road---so I'm rolling on 16's for the foreseeable future. I will be sad to see the MS Rays go. I've never seen another wheel that looks...

FS: COBB Tuning Sport Springs for the MS3

SOLD I had these installed on my car for only a few months and ~ 3000 miles. They worked great, the Speed3 cornered like a champ. With my daily commute, though, they just weren't for me. Cobb's description: Don't expect a huge drop with these springs. COBB claims a 1" drop front and...

What kind/brand of oil do you use?

I run Pennzoil Platinum 10W-30. Back when I was doing my first oil change I read on the forums that under oil analysis it was found to be of roughly the same viscosity as competing 5W-30's and to have good results following use in the MZR 2.3 DISI turbo. This may not be the most current...

    My COBB Spring Impressions

Look forward to hearing your impressions.. I've got some Cobb springs on the way. And around here, all the roads are crappy. Still, the ride should be somewhat improved since the stock spring/shock combo is overdamped. With the Cobb springs, minor road imperfections should be soaked up better.

    Corksport vs. Turbo XS

Good point. The stock exhaust doesn't have any flex hose in it either. It may be that Mazda designed the exhaust (material type and thickness, bends, donut flange) to give it enough inherent elasticity. Corksport likely did the same. Does the donut flange flex? The CP-E catback has that huge...

    Corksport vs. Turbo XS

The Corksport TBE does not have any flex-hose in it. This concerns me as I know the engine likes to roll around under torque, and the clearances are pretty tight in some areas. Seems to me like without any flex in the system you could have some rattles, or worst case scenario strain those...
