Do any of you know how to decode a VIN to determine what transmission a CX5 has? I'd hate to drive to Dayton tomorrow to find out they listed the transmission wrong.

I'm guessing NEO doesn't do Menchies any more? I may have to hit up Stricklands tonight with the kiddos, since it's 3 blocks away from the house.

It's the same Mazda L engine, which also happens to be the basis of the 2.0L ecoboost as well.

Manual said 87 unleaded only. Specifically states no E85, which surprised me, I figured it would be flexfuel capable being a 2015. Oh well. It did ok when I drove it to work yesterday, power is plenty for cruise to maintain 70mph, even up steep slopes without downshifting.

I was mistaken, its a 2.5L in the transit. The ecoboost (1.6L available only in the work versions) only adds 9hp and 13 ft-lbs over the NA. I agree with you, its not quick like the Flex, but it's not slow. Power is adequate getting on the highway. The biggest problem it has is that you don't...

I went to Ganley Ford because I wanted to test drive a Flex.

I haven't flat out measured, but it is close to fitting. The 2.0L actually doesn't feel sluggish. It also drives like a car, and doesn't feel like a large vehicle. Mine is a Titanium. Previous owner took a huge hit on it, because I saved a ton of money and I'm sure the dealer made some. Long...

Or he could need a tow rig without buying a truck.

This weekend I did both yard work and get some car work done. I also ended up buying a CPO Ford Transit Connect (7 seat) Saturday. I went to look at Flexes, and the TC just had so much more room, and was significantly cheaper. It only has 1400 miles on it too. The Flex was nice, but the TC fit...

I put the windows down as much as possible, so I'm sure I'd always have the top down if I had a convertible.

Thats one good looking car that should put a hurt on the FRS/BRZ market.

Here is the thing is Ohio (i pulled up the ORC and read it myself), the end all the car seat laws with a general statement that the recommendations of the manufacture prevail. So, if the kid at 13 months is too long, or too heavy for rear facing, they must go front facing anyways. I'm sure you...

I'll say I have seen a few guys with the MaxJax. One guy out of Kansas City built his Z06 in his garage with one. I'd say it would handle the RX7 no problem.

Start spraying down the header bolts now, especially the ones in the heads, with PB Blaster.

Assuming this is on the 6: CAI/TB Spacer is a 20 minute job. Rear sway can be either 45 minutes, or 4 hours. Front sway is a bit more complicated, but may be a touch easier if you do it when the stock headers are out. I've done enough headers on the 3.0L to get competent at it. Unfortunately...

That would have been hilarious, and yet, the definitive end to this thread. Yes, Christmas was pretty good. The kids were spoiled pretty well. I didn't get any car parts, but I got what I asked for, so that's always nice. Who else ate too many sweets this past weekend? Who else is stuck...

You can always pull the factory manifolds, knock out the precats with a long 3/8 socket extension, and reinstall. You may still have the issue with a CEL, but that can be fixed with either an O2 simulator, or put a spacer on the O2 sensor.
