Do any of you know how to decode a VIN to determine what transmission a CX5 has? I'd hate to drive to Dayton tomorrow to find out they listed the transmission wrong.

It's the same Mazda L engine, which also happens to be the basis of the 2.0L ecoboost as well.

Start spraying down the header bolts now, especially the ones in the heads, with PB Blaster.

Well this thread is pretty dead.

You can always pull the factory manifolds, knock out the precats with a long 3/8 socket extension, and reinstall. You may still have the issue with a CEL, but that can be fixed with either an O2 simulator, or put a spacer on the O2 sensor.
