    US Mazda5 Changes for 2010

It's helpful in Minnesota. (32 and freezing rain this morning)

    US Mazda5 Changes for 2010

Can anyone with the U.S. spec decks confirm that Dynamic Stability Control & Traction Control will be available on the 5?

HELP! Convince me to buy '06 mazda5

A lot of good advice here. If you want to go new, another option beyond Subie is the Pontiac Vibe. It's available in AWD, and with Pontiac going away, there should be a bunch of good deals on them. It's really a Toyota (same as Matrix), built at same factory (Nummi, now probably being...

    US Mazda5 Changes for 2010

I don't have much data, but I do have Feb & March of 2006: 1546 for February, 1526 for March

    US Mazda5 Changes for 2010

Interior spyshots suggest a second row seat with very long legroom, and fold down seats, but no 3rd row. I don't take this as a Mz5 competitor at all. Venza, yes. BMW 5 GT - not quite (kind of like the Accord vs 3 series competition car mags would do; the Crosstour should be a lot for the...

    April / May 2009 US Mazda5 Sales

The PR I saw is vague and inconsistent. It says, "Mazda North American Operations - May 2009 Month-To-Date Year-To-Date" ------------- ------------ This seems to imply the numbers are for NA It also notes...

    April / May 2009 US Mazda5 Sales

These are North America figures: "Mazda North American Operations (MNAO) today reported May 2009 sales of 16,718, down 40.1 percent versus May of 2008, and down 37.9 percent on a Daily Selling Rate (DSR) basis. Overall, total yearly sales are reported at 86,652, down 33.0 percent compared to...

    April / May 2009 US Mazda5 Sales

May 09 Mazda5 sales: 1197 Mazda cars (including the 5) did very poorly in May 09. Right around -40% in DSR for Mazda3,5, & 6. Mazda5 is back around the 1200 sales level (1197), down from 2072 in May 08. This is still somewhat supportable, but the crash in both the Mazda3 (to 7500 from 12788)...

    April / May 2009 US Mazda5 Sales

That's still pretty good, given the whole downturn (and Mazda and others being down 30% or more). If it slips below 1500 a month (in a high selling season like Spring / Summer), that's more troubling.

    Competition from the Dodge Journey

I rented an Avenger too, and was thoroughly unimpressed also. It was the source of comic relief for my wife and I, as we kept on running into mishaps that we blamed on some not-quite-ready-for-market aspect of the Avenger. Arrgh! :)

Premacy Hydrogen Hybrid testing in Japan

I'm not totally sure, but I think it means that with only the hydrogen tank filled, the range is 125 miles. That's a pretty good range. But, there are 2 motors involved here: an internal combustion one [running on either hydrogen or gasoline], and an electric one. Over this range, both the...

Premacy Hydrogen Hybrid testing in Japan

Now this sounds like a real interesting Mazda5/Premacy: Rotary powered, dual fuel system (hydrogen & gasoline), lithium ion batteries for the electric motor: http://www.leftlanenews.com/mazda-premacy-hydrogen-re-hybrids-approved-for-public-road-testing.html

    New Family Looking for mazda5

No word yet, as far as I know, on US models. 2009 Canadian models will have the MT available in both the GS and GT trim grade (the only trims offered in Canada).

    New Family Looking for mazda5

Canadian Mazda5s will not have ESC nor traction control for 2009. I doubt US ones will. By 2012 they will, but who knows before then? In your situation, I'd recommend checking out a new Subaru Forester also. Lots of space for a dog in the back, standard AWD, ESC, traction control. It's also...

    RIP Slvrsleeper

Really glad you made it ok after these additional details - sounds like a net 75 mph impact to the rear quarter panel. Scary! Everybody out there who is replacing tires: the new recommendation is to put the tire with better traction on the REAR. If you do not, then you will induce oversteer...

    RIP Slvrsleeper

Or, in actuality, by the 2012 model year. For specifics see NHTSA: http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/portal/site/nhtsa/menuitem.012c081c5966f0ca3253ab10cba046a0/ [Note: we already know that Canadian 2009 Mazda5s will not have ESC]

    RIP Slvrsleeper

Wow. Sounds like a nasty accident. Not sure I wanna see the pics :( Glad you're mostly ok. Get your neck checked out. This sounds exactly like the situation where ESC could have helped somewhat (balding rear tires leading to oversteer). Mazda, are you listening?

    Should I buy a 5?

Another disadvantage of the Mazda5: Mazda currently refuses to make Electronic Stability Control and Traction Control available on the Mazda5. It's been available on the Mazda3 for 2007 & 2008, but not on the 5. Canadian market 2009 Mazda5s will also not have these safety features available...

(attn) 2009 Mazda5 available in late September

I too think you will be fine for the changeover in September. If you have a good sales advisor, what you want to ask is to have them contact you as soon as they receive the "SPEC DECKS". Use that term. That's the info from Mazda on the next model year.
