    2016 CX-9 Roof Rack

Guess this would be the best option: Thule AeroBlade ARB60 Thule Rapid Traverse Foot Pack KIT1854 The whole bit is over $500 which seems like a lot but that appears to be the situation

    2016 CX-9 Roof Rack

Hi - I'd like to bump this thread. I'm considering buying a 2017 CX-9 but no roof rails. If I want the dealer to install roof rail, the option is the ones flush with the roof... why are manufacturers going with these kinds? You can't tie anything underneath them, so it seems much less useful...

how many P5 do you see around?

Well it'd be interesting to see a geographical distribution. Seems like they were popular up north and Canada when they first came out, but now the survivors are clustered in the south. I've only been in Chicago 4 years and now I can see the rust starting. But anyway godammit, I think I have to...

how many P5 do you see around?

Friday afternoon question: do you get really excited when you see another P5 and wave at the driver? How many do you see - for me I'm sure it's less than one a month. I have a 35 mile round-trip commute on Chicago tollways and suburban surface streets, but there just ain't many left around...

    multiple water issues

thanks for that, PCB. I also have this issue after really heavy rain that the driver's side door fills up with water. It is fun to open and close the door and hear the water sloshing around. Not a huge issue cause I just pull those little clips at the bottom and it drains out. Never happened...

yeah thanks - just came back from tightening those nuts - the top one on each side was loose. Good idea about the washers.

    multiple water issues

Been getting lots of cold rain around here recently - last two times it poured, I threw a P0304 code (cylinder four misfire). Runs crappy until it dries out. Ordered new plugs and wires and am hoping that will fix the problem. I see no sparks coming from the coils when I mist them with a...

annoying little problem: gas tank cover

Anybody have this issue where the metal gas tank cover thing doesn't spring open when you pull the lever? I looked at it last night and couldn't figure out what is wrong - but it was only me - I need a friend to see what happening at the door when the lever is pulled. But if anyone has fixed...

what to look for in 2012 CX-9

Sorry I jsut saw a previous thread on this from January 2017 - and it answered my questions. Reliability doesn't seem the same as the ol' P5. blame Ford?

what to look for in 2012 CX-9

I searched the forums last night, but just thought I'd throw this out there, too. We finally need a 7-seater and I'm looking at a seemingly pretty good deal on a 2012 CX-9. Anything besides this very common brake booster problem to check out? I see this was the model year right before a...

    heavy clutch

Mine is stock. A quick search seems to indicate that changing the manual fluid is controversial. I have never done it.

    heavy clutch

Is there anything I can ask my mechanic to do for a heavy clutch? I really didn't notice the issue until I was in France last week and they gave me this little Peugeot 108, and then I came back and got in the the P5, and merde it was about thousand times more difficult to push the pedal down...

    P-5 Reliability

That is awesome. Same here. Ever check your air intake tube? That is a thing that goes on all these cars - the plastic cracks over time

Protege5 - How many miles have you gone before changing the timing belt?

Dang- that is something... I just had my timing belt changed to keep me sleeping at night... and my mechanic showed it to me and he said, " well it looks new but it is a little stretched" ... sh*t it looked perfect to me. 14 year old car but only 100K miles ... probably could have saved the...

    Possibly returning p5 owner.

Hey - besides a wash every time they salt the roads, what else do I do to prevent rust in these cars? I've decided to sink a grand into mine and keep it for as long as possible. Right now - I don't see any rust apart from the hubs (that area where the brake rotors are attached) and the bolts...
