    The Mustard Nugget

Well...it was a short-lived experience. I bought and fitted a pair of WRX seats, was contemplating doing the clutch along with lightened flywheel or coilovers. Then a mate needed a runabout...so I sold the Mustard Nugget. Thanks everyone for the great, but brief experience. I might check in...

    LankyKiwi's Rally-flavored SP20

Ooh...nasty. I*ve got a mate selling a set of FD RX7 wheels with slicks on them (intended for use on an NC MX5) if you are open to having them shipped from Sydney.

I*m guessing the clutch plate is ageing and the clutch is probably wearing (though not slipping) - the car is closing in on 300,000kms which is 180,000+miles. Which got me thinking, might as well put in a lightweight flywheel if I*m going to change the clutch! So the question is, has anyone...

    The Mustard Nugget

So I got tired of trying to chase down the problem and sent the car off to MX5 Mania - they are really MX5 (Miata) specialists but know the Mazda family of cars quite well. Turns out if was a low fuel pressure issue - fuel pump and filter changed, all good! Im also changing out the rear...

Thanks pcb! I suspect it*s the fuel pump. I had similar issues with my Alfas in the past...well...any issue I*ve had with any car, I*ve had with my Alfas. Thanks for the heads up on the other fixes though - I*ll check them out.

Doubt it*s a fuse as the car will start - just takes a longer cranking period to get it going.

    The Mustard Nugget

The Mustard Nugget developed an unwillingness to start recently. Typically on hot start. I changed the battery as it was dying, and changed the plugs as well. The gaps on the old plugs were much wider than the new ones and they were really white, so I was hopeful the problem would be sorted...

    [DEFUNCT] The College-Budget P5

Im a bit of a Honda guy and if you want to race, Id suggest an EG Civic or better yet, a DC2 Integra

That*s great news! Hopefully it will work - just need to find my shifter first

A little more progress on the exhaust system - rear section now complete. We ran out of 45deg bends so cut a section of a 90deg and angled the cuts a bit. Now to get the hangers on. Test fitted I think the cat must have started to blow itself to bits. There*s a whole bunch of little...

I did think about that but its coming up on 300,000kms...I haven*t had a solid look underneath but would assume the shocks are getting to end of life. Perfect excuse for *replacement*.

    The Mustard Nugget

grffn - the car is actually intended for my son, but I just can*t help myself. I*d love to lower the car but he*s got to pay for something...unless I can*t help myself again! It does annoy me though, that gap. LankyKiwi - I*m hoping to gain a few ponies! This is my mates first attempt at...

I had these wheels on my Integra previously and since they were lying around... 17x7.5 Prodrive GC05F made by Rays Engineering. Nice and light! But not lighter than stock I dont think...

A bit of progress over the last few weeks. So the brakes off the GG wagon work really well - theyre only 274mm, so an improvement over the stock ones. I had hoped to get the larger kit but wasnt able to. Have yet to be tested at the track! A friend of mine who has been learning to weld is...

    Lightweight crank

That*s right - it*s all part of a bigger picture, and they add up. Did you find that the UDP probably gives more results than the lightened pulleys?

    Lightweight crank

From what I*ve experienced, the gains aren*t noticeable with lightened pulleys alone and my (more objective) friends have also said the same. However, when I converted my Type R to a track only car (no A/C) and taking into account lightened flywheel and lightened pulleys, you do notice that...

    Sweet! Thanks for that!

Thanks! Still a bit more cleaning to do. I did the oil change on the weekend and man...it*s dirty under there. Rotors are RDA, and Protex blanks for the rear. There*s a bit of play in the shifter and I*m looking for bushes for it...or a short shifter. I*m hoping the shifter from my DC2 Type...
