    Odometer/Speedometer issues…Help!

I'm gonna stop by there on Tuesday and see if they have any further info. Well, you're right. Overall, though, the car is in good shape and runs well. I probably was in too much of a hurry to find a car when my Tijuana Taxi got totaled by a deer on April 6th. A shame. I loved that car. It still...

    Odometer/Speedometer issues…Help!

Yes, the tires are OEM size. And even if they weren't, that wouldn't account for more than maybe 2 mph. And the used car lot advertised the correct mileage. I did find out the speedometer had been replaced just recently. And yeah, at first I thought I was looking at one of the trip meters. I...

    Odometer/Speedometer issues…Help!

I just bought a used 2011 Mazda3 s GT. It had 93,600 miles on it, as I witnessed with my own eyes on the test drive. I noticed that the speedometer was 9 mph off - it showed 62 when I was actually driving 71mph. I decided to buy it, and the used car dealer then showed me how the...

    100K MP5 Club

Just passed 300,000 miles. Still on the original clutch; I just had the radiator replaced, though. It uses oil - but not too badly. I bought some blue stuff that really helped seal the rings and pistons so it doesn't smoke so much on start-up. Had my share of brake issues, and I CANNOT seem to...

Replace stock size wheels with stock size aftermarket?

Man, those wheels look nice but the photo is pretty dark in the shade. Wish I could see it better. My P5 has the stock wheels, and they're OK; but they're getting a little long in the tooth, if you know what I mean. My car is the "horizon yellow" color. I'll check out those Enkei's.

Cost of major service for Protege5?

Here's what the dealer's pamphlet lists: oil & filter change, rotate & balance, transmission service, fuel injection service, cooling system service, full circle inspection. Since mine is a stick shift, "transmission service" means filling the clutch master cylinder with fluid and checking for...

Cost of major service for Protege5?

The dealer wants $800 to do the "major" service (90,000) on my 2003 Protege 5. Don't you think this is exorbitant and outrageous? Where can I get it done cheaper?

    Original clutch

OK, thanks. It's been nearly ALL highway driving, down south, and when I hammer the gas on the highway, there's no slipping at all - it takes off. So I'm not gonna panic yet.

    Original clutch

My P5 has 300,000 miles on it and I'm still on the original clutch (manual trans). Is this highly unusual, or normal for this car? There is a little slippage and a little chatter after it sits overnight. Should I be thinking about replacing it?

    100K MP5 Club

2003 P5 manual tranny, 268,000 miles, still running strong. Compression great, burns oil though. Just put in all new rotors & pads. Normal wear and tear. Looking for a rear spoiler because mine is de-laminated. Yellow.

    P5 starting issues

Turns out it was the idle air control valve. Once we replaced that, it has been running like a top!

    P5 starting issues

My '03 Protege5 is having starting issues. It no longer starts with a simple turn of the ignition switch when it has been sitting for a while. When it's warmed up, no problem. But when it has been sitting for several hours, I have to give it a boot with the gas to get it to start. When I do...
