Anyone Know If Backup Lines On 2018 Mazda 3 Curve When Turning In Reverse

Just confirming that the 2017 had straight backup lines - was annoyed. Also bought the 2017 wiring diagram. It said the diagram applies to both the 2017 and the 2018. So I'd guess they're straight on the 2018 too, but hope to be wrong.

    Upgrade Bose Speakers?

Hi Bob, Seriously! The EQL fit under the passenger seat next to the LC2i, but it does block the under-seat air vent for your backseat passengers. I don't care about that, but maybe you will. Also, I ended up getting the AudioControl DM-810 DSP. It's pretty impressive! The writeup I'm...

Adding a subwoofer to a non Bose 2017

Makes sense. My car is fully sound deadened all around. I did a little tuning this weekend, and it's pretty impressive how much the DSP can do! I still have some more to do and plan to use the TRA microphone with pink noise. Things are coming along. What comes to mind on things left to do...

Adding a subwoofer to a non Bose 2017

I don't know the exact crossover frequencies, especially not for the standard non-Bose system. Last night I got a chance to play with the real-time analyzer ("RTA") on my new digital signal processor ("DSP"), and it seems like the door subs on my Bose system roll off starting at around 100hz...

Adding a subwoofer to a non Bose 2017

Yeah, those are actually 8in subs in the door. The rear door gets a fuller range, but you'll find running from the front doors a signal ranging roughly from 100hz down. I'm actually finishing my full DSP installation this week and hope to write it up soon. Getting the DSP actually converted...

Adding a subwoofer to a non Bose 2017

Highpass - I get signal below 40 hz through the door subs, which you can test yourself using the Signal Gen app (iOS) playing through the USB input on your car. Plus if you get the LC2i, you can adjust how much bass rolloff to eliminate. Wire polarity marks - The wires are color coded...

Adding a subwoofer to a non Bose 2017

I did this recently on my 2017 Mazda GT by tapping into the speaker-level outputs on the amp under the passenger seat. You have to test continuity and polarity, and connect a high-to-low level converter. Continuity Testing To figure out which wire was which, I tested continuity with my multi...

    Upgrade Bose Speakers?

Hi Bob, Sorry for the long delay. Fortunately, I've had a lot of good new information come through and was able to do the first major phase of my Mazda 3. The front dash (L & R) and rear pillars are the Infinity 3022CFX speakers, and the center is still the Kappa Perfect 300M. But I...

    2016 CX-5 Audio upgrade thread

For sure, I hope you are enjoying the center channel. I actually have another one for sale now because I am doing the same upgrade to my 2017 Mazda 3, which has an identical Bose system to my girl's 2016 CX-5. Same as before, I'm selling for $75 because the pair was $150. Message me...

    Upgrade Bose Speakers?

Hey Bob, I'm doing the same thing for my 2017 Mazda 3 Grand Touring right now, and I just did the same thing to my wife's 2016 Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring. Both cars have the same Bose system with all the same parts. Five of the speakers are 3.5 in (FL, FC, FR, RL, and RR) running at 3 ohms...

    2016 CX-5 Audio upgrade thread

Hey yrwei52, I think a third 3022cfx could work well too, and I actually considered doing that myself. Since I didn't I can't say for sure which is the "best" option. But my experience was that the stock 2016 Bose speakers on the front dash lacked highs, and a pair of 3022cfx speakers in...

    2016 CX-5 Audio upgrade thread

Just installed. They're legit! With the Infinity 3022cfx speakers already in the left and right dash spots, the difference is subtle but good. Things became more articulated. I noticed things like the guitar pick of a bass guitar's pluck and clearer project of voices. It added just what I...

    2016 CX-5 Audio upgrade thread

Pretty easy. Just have a thin pry tool that won't scratch your dash, some crimp on speaker wire terminals, and a way to get at screws in a tight corner. It's basically the same as earlier in this thread. But you don't need an angle screw driver tool like it said in a previous post. I just put a...

    2016 CX-5 Audio upgrade thread

My vote is for the Infinity 3022cfx speakers. They sound great for how small they are, and the Polk db351 speakers discussed throughout this thread have been discontinued. Even if you can get the Polk db351 speakers, the impedance is 4 ohm so you'd get less volume out of them than the Infinity...

    2016 CX-5 Audio upgrade thread

That's exactly the same size as the Infinity 3022cfx speakers but with a lower quality tweeter. Cruchfield says it won't fit, but it's the same size so it should fit. There thing isn't always accurate, though, so you might just have to test. But for only another $20, I'd just go with the...

    2016 CX-5 Audio upgrade thread

I ran across what seems to be a perfect drop-in replacement for the stock Bose subwoofers in the front doors, at just 2.125 in mounting depth. They are the Earthquake sws-8xi. I put an image that you can click, which brings you to the Amazon page. They come in a variety of sizes and Ohm...

    2016 CX-5 Audio upgrade thread

It's an incredible difference in my case, though how much you'll care about that will depend on how much you appreciate audio. If it's something you care about and can afford, then yes - it's worth it. So far, I've installed the Infinity 3022cfx speakers in the front dash (which I did first)...

    2016 CX-5 Audio upgrade thread

Two questions: (1) anyone have spare Inifity 3022cfx to sell, and (2) anyone have experience with the new 8" Infitiy Flex subs for the front doors? About the first question (Have a spare Infinity 3022cfx?) I have the same question about the Inifity 3022cfx speakers (link below). Note that...
