I'm going to need to replace the tires on my 2017 CX-9 (have about 45K, will need to replace around 50K). What do people recommend? I need an all-season tire. a few trips into the snow each year, but mostly on city and highway.

I hit 45K and my rears were close to replacing; I could have gone to 50K, but figured to take care if it now. Fronts are fine with plenty of life. CX-9 (2017) has rear brake bias (also, I am a heavy braker). Other than that, loving my CX-9.

It it's not a Toyota or Honda, CR pans it. I don't trust them anymore - they are not the organization they were in the 70s and 80s. CX-9 is a great vehicle. Drive it and any other comparable, and let your gut decide. Mazda made a great product and it's the best kept secret.

Galaxie 500! My dad had one and loved it. I grew up riding around in it and always wanted one. I remember on cold days, we had to roll down the windows the heat was so intense. So I agree on the heater. For my CX-9 the heater is plenty good.

My recommendation is to drive all the similar class and trim (Honda, Toyota, Kia, Hyundai) and see what you think. I think the CX-9 is the best for me (driving still matters). I've had people stop me and ask about it (ex "We're in the market for a new car, how do you like it?"), I think partly...

No "major" issues. I have a video, and if it happens more, off to the dealer. I've had a few navi systems and they all have bugs that get worked out eventually. It really is an amazing value for the dollar.

I think there are more than just these reasons for AWD. The mileage savings is negligible. I would rather have the safety and performance of AWD. Some severe fall storms (and some quasi-aggressive driving dirt roads) made me a believer. The clearance of the CX-9 is actually very good - better...

As an avid reader of Consumer Report for over 30 years, I found that after the 90's and the Internet explosion, they are not a good bellwether - subscribers of CR are a biased bunch, as noted before. Better off doing an internet search to get the 80% answer.

I've clocked 2,000 miles a month on my 2017 and no issues, other than the occasional rear camera blackout, which I am convinced is a connector issue in the tailgate. Happens once every 3 months, and disappears 15 min later. If its gets worse, I will deal with it. Otherwise, I LOVE driving...

I find the stock ones are pretty good (2017). Stopped on a dime, better than any in similar class.

A Mazda 6 with that engine will be super fun to drive....offer a stick and we'll have some "Transporter" fun :-)

There may be something to the rental thing. A friend got a CX-5 as a rental, and said he was very impressed to the point he might consider one for his next car.

OT rant: Bluetooth, after what,15 years now, if still janky AF. It's gotten better, but it's still has annoying issues, including latency. It was never design for the Internet of Things. They really need to start over with a modern protocol.

I was like that, but after the first half dozen dings, I gave up. I keep the interior spic-n-span, leather conditioners and all that. Outside just get the regular wash. Honestly, the paint shoots off the line are pretty crappy for Japanese cars (Hondas, Toyotas, and now Mazda)...Not sure why...

Mine was dinged the third day after I got it. Could not believe. I parked waaaay far away, in a parking lot with few cars/plenty of spaces. Person parked right next to me, dinged my door. There was no reason to park next to me; it was intentional. I was pissed and them with a parting gift...
