    2016 GT vs 2018/2019 GT

The 2016 CX-9 did not appear to have been crash safety tested/rated. "Beginning with 2017 models built after November 2016, Mazda modified the deployment pattern of the side curtain airbags to improve protection in front and side crashes."...

2018 CX-9 GT Road Noise - Crosspost from Tires, Suspension Section,

Did the Mazda dealer fix the alignment problem the Firestone tech found? The Mazda dealer I have my CX-9 serviced has the new Hawkeye alignment system right at the drive up service drop off bay. No need to put the car on a rack to check alignment anymore. Just put on these 4 cone like things...

Water Pump failure led to need for new engine - Mazda not helping at all

I hope this lack of good will from Mazda for this water pump engine failure is due to this being Ford/Mazda issue and Mazda will stand behind their non-Ford "Mazda" product. I hope the lawyers get a better settlement than what Nissan Xterra, Frontier, Pathfinder owners got from Nissan for the...

    Oil confusion-16-19 2.5t

I had the same issue with the Mazda dealer I purchased from. First oil change and tire rotation was free and they put in conventional 5W-30. Second oil change I asked for full synthetic and the service writer said that Mazda recommends conventional and they cannot provide full synthetic for...

    Tailgate is pissing me off

On my 2016, no need to unlock before pressing the lift gate button on the fob. Just have to press and hold the button for a second or so. To OP are you holding the button down for at least one second and do you hear any beeps when using the button on the driver's dash? If you don't hear any...

    Diagnal Re-Test on Car-Question! - 2018 CX-9

Car question answered the question in the comments of the new video that they performed the 2016 test with the traction control turned on and also off but they did not note it on the video. One of the Mazda engineers explained why the 2016 CX-9 failed and indicated the algorithm will be updated...

    Diagnal Re-Test on Car-Question! - 2018 CX-9

That would be nice if the '16 and '17 CX-9s can be reprogrammed.

    Mazda "Feel Alive" launch commercial

Hopefully Mazda will look at the YouTube comments on their "Feel Alive" spot and realize they missed the mark and not waste anymore ad dollars on this campaign.

Snow with my 2016 CX-9 issues

The explanation video of the CX9 failed diagonal test has been posted. There is a rather detailed written explanation in the comments by a Mazda USA Engineer, Dave Coleman. Basically stating CX9's AWD and traction control system sucks if you ever get into situation similar to the test. For...

    Memory Seat Problem

This is correct. You can basically have 4 different memory positions. 2 using the 2 buttons by the driver seat and a different 2, one for each of the 2 key fobs. See page 2-8 of the owner manual. Here is the note: NOTE  Individual seat positions can be programmed to the two available...

Thanks for the data. What was outside ambient temperature?

In Defense of the CX-9's Air Conditioning

2016 CX9 GT AWD Soul Red with Sand interior since March and still love the CX9. i thought the A/C was okay until recently when temps are mid 90's and higher and we have the great mile high sunshine. The A/C in the CX9 is adequate since it does eventually cool things down but it is definitely...

New Member here: I just test drove a cx 9 signature - "dreadful A/C" is correct

After some high 90s and near 100 F weather in Denver Colorado, I feel the A/C in my 2016 CX9 GT is lacking a little and definitely not as powerful as my 2000 Honda Odyssey. The Odyssey cools down its much larger cabin much faster than the CX9. The CX9 does eventually cool the cabin down but...

Anybody Truly Tested The Smart Brake Support/Smart City Brake Support?

You described the Mazda Radar Cruise Control (MRCC) which can be set to keep a certain distance from the car in front if its speed drops below the speed your cruise control is set to. MRCC is easy to test/demonstrate and check compared to SBS/SCBS.

    hatch open

Similar thing happened to me and the hardware on the garage door put a big ding/scratch in the rear hatch. I take the key fob out of my pocket as soon as I'm in the house now. Too bad the rear radar is not active and keep the rear hatch from opening when in the garage with garage door closed.

Do anyone else's drink holders get warm on longer trips?

My center console (storage area with the folding cover) inside front wall gets hot pretty quick. After just 15 minutes i can feel the temperature difference. Rear HVAC not on. The other parts of the console inside walls are not as hot. The cup holders don't heat up nearly as much but I can...

Do anyone else's drink holders get warm on longer trips?

Have not notice but will have to watch for that. Is this with rear climate control set to heat or even with rear climate control off?
