    Rain-Sensitive Wipers Underwhelmimg

I agree, the auto wipers in our Mazda 3 and CX-5 are rubbish. The ones in my previous Toyota were brilliant.

    Disable SBCS/Brake Assist

On our 2015 Mazda 3 it can be disabled via the infotainment screen. It's similar in our 2017 CX-5 but that one resets so needs done each journey.

Can the sliders be lubed without disassembling the brakes?

I lubricated the slider pins on our 2015 Mazda 3 last year but discovered this year that the problem was actually the ends of the pads jamming against the shims. Perhaps it's our salty roads, but personally, I'd strip them down and lubricate everything properly.

    US Diesel's big splash introduction

I've just had my 4th year service done on my late 2014 diesel, at approx 40k miles, and one year and 10k miles since it's last service. Forscan said my oil dilution was 0, and the oil level has been on the max mark (not the over high x mark) for the whole year. The car gets quite an easy life...

See this thread... https://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?123859405-Possible-to-update-firmware-in-2012-CX-5 In post #10 it shows images of the NB1 and the later MazdaConnect systems. It seems inly the MazdaConnect system is updateable, and I think you have the NB1.

    2. A new bluetooth controller (under warranty) cured mine from playing track 1 each start up (apparently the BT controller also controls USB). 4. Mine doesn't follow it either, but it's handy if you want to cue up your next track while the current one is playing. 5. Mine shows playlists (but I...

    key fob battery life?

We use both fobs, swapping them over every month or two, and got a bit under a year from the original batteries on our Mazda 3 with keyless entry. We've since had a bit over a year from the replacements and not had any warnings yet.

CX Infotainment - Sync Average and Trip A

On our UK Mazda 3 with the infotainment system some settings are greyed out unless you meet a certain criteria. I haven't played about with ours for a while but IIRC you need the engine running but the car not moving, or the handbrake on, or the headlights on, or something similar.

Towing possible with 2.5L and manual transmission? Mixed information out there...

If it's any help - the current UK brochure states towing capacity for the 2.0 petrol with manual tranny is 715kg unbraked, and 1800kg braked. (1576lbs and 3968lbs respectively, according to a google conversion).

    US Diesel's big splash introduction

If it's any help... my late 2014 top spec 2.2 diesel AWD auto (it's called Sports Nav this side of the pond) gets about 400 miles to a tank before it gets too low, driving 'normal/nice'. If you were to run the tank low, driving 'quite nice', your 450 miles wouldn't be hard to achieve. I don't...

But lots of people change cars every year or three. The residual re-sale value should be proportionately higher, thus you get some of the extra back.

Love Hate Relationship in less than one Week

I swapped the stock 19's on my top spec 2014 model for stock 17's from a lesser spec model and there's no discernable difference in road noise. It's softer, but not quieter.
