    CX-5 Diesel--worth the price premium?

No, It's pretty good product. I think sales reflect that well. It's middle of the road. Not amazing, not bad by any stretch. My gripe was gas in the engine oil, and the unknown durability relating to that. Also, the resale value was not great.

    CX-5 Diesel--worth the price premium?

Avg driver here. Came here bc I was so excited about my new cx5. Learned a lot. A whole lot. Thanks to the many good posters here. In another thread you told me you live, or lived d in NY, and you were happy the govt caught your burnt out turn signal at your safety check thingy because you...

    CX-5 Diesel--worth the price premium?

Omg there are 155 pages there. More prominent than I remembered. I skipped to the end and ppl are talking about replacing their oil diluted cx5's with - wait for it - ...Mercedes and VW LOL. And that issue is not diesel specific. It's in Mazda petrol. Maybe it's worse in diesel, idk. Full...

    CX-5 Diesel--worth the price premium?

Want there a prominent thread on diesel issues on this forum? There was a prominent thread on dilution with the petrol. Mazda innovates. That's a fact. I don't think you buy a new fancy tech Mazda engine tuned for govt emissions standards if you're planning on driving it forever - say at...

NY state drivers will have to start stripping

Nvm that sounds pretty dope. I don't ever check my lights! LOL. Wish I could pay a small fee for the govt to tell me my vehicle is safe. That's very thoughtful of them.

NY state drivers will have to start stripping

What's a "vehicle inspection"? Sounds like govt overreach. What will they think of next?

    Considering a CX-5. thoughts?

Man I'm mad all the time. LOL lifetime fluid? Idk what you're referencing. I did read my manual. I do not believe in lifetime fluid. That sounds like a trap. We're way off track, just as I predicted. I should have just said yes, I love my cx5 I def think you should get one and drive it till...

    Considering a CX-5. thoughts?

Nvm, def got this guy confused with OP...but the real OP was an even weirder circumstance, and i would give him the same advice. He has a subaru with 300k and he's thinking about going to mazda. Ok, man, but I think if i were you, Subaru would have earned my loyalty after 300k.

    Considering a CX-5. thoughts?

This stuff was not recommended me to me if I was keeping it 5 years, fyi. And your prices are way off. Trans drain and fill, not flush, 120 x 1. BG service 2 x 135. Total of $390 over 3 years. And I would do it again for that price, no question. Not if I'm planning to not keep the car. The oil...

    Considering a CX-5. thoughts?

There was significant gas in my engine oil. If you've been around this forum, you've read about it. You're getting weird and defensive, mad because you think I'm talking down to your lil mazda. I am not. I am giving the OP what he asked for. I doubt you plan on keeping your mazda forever. Is...

    Considering a CX-5. thoughts?

No, it boils down to the product. Period. I would love to read that German study thing if you don't care to link it. I just don't understand what you're talking about in regards to 15 years. I know Lexus is not expensive to run. At all. It's a dressed up toyota. Family has had 3 of em...

    Considering a CX-5. thoughts?

I'll tell you, but you'll just get mad because you are emotional and weird about your cx5, and because you've read reviews saying it's the most reliable vehicle in 15 years??? LOL. Believe that if you wish, the vehicle came out in what, 2012-13? It hasn't been out 5 years. Online reviews are...

    Considering a CX-5. thoughts?

Just out of curiousuty, I checked cargurus fur used rx350...first one 2012 AWD 60k Miles....list $24k. You would be not smart to pay 20k for a cx5 with 20-40k miles. Explore ALL your options. You can get a lot of used vehicles you may not think you can get.

    Considering a CX-5. thoughts?

Dude said he's buying his last car. That's what my advice is based around. A lot of people showed up to give him advice that doesn't really help. Damn right I don't like CUVs. Not these new ones. CUVs aren't a new concept, Subaru, Honda, and Toyota made bulletproof ones for years. But these...

    Considering a CX-5. thoughts?

It's a small, tin can, 4cyl car with AWD. Which is not much different than any of the trendy CUVs. I'm just not a fan of the value of the CUVs and how they've replaced more traditional SUVs at a similar price point. Its not good for the consumer from a value perceptive. After owning a cx5...

    Considering a CX-5. thoughts?

Run far away. You said you plan on keeping this car as long as you can. Don't. You will not keep it forever, and resale is crap. Don't even think about a salvaged one. Take that money you're thinking of spending on this cx5 and compare it to all other new/used vehicles in that price range...

    Advice appreciated please

The CX5 continues to be one of the best selling mid size crossovers in this country, and is rated very highly by motoring organisations and motoring media. ---------------------------- In Australia or in general? Because Mazda is a small automaker, and issues with cx5 have been well...

Off Topic.... GX 470? Any current or former owners?

Boss move. Get the Lexus for towing/playing around if you can. Or save some coin and the Toyota....whatever size you're looking for. 4Runner, Sequoia. V6 vs V8...you might prefer the v8 for towing. only thing I might look for more info on is the KDSS suspension....I know the 4runners have...

Because they design vehicles that last a long time, tbh.

2016 transmission delayed shifting after 2015 transmission replacement

I think you should trade it for one of those new diesels so you can haul around a bobcat or something. Gonna be a game changer that diesel. It's what the CUV market has been missing. Was the protege a ford/Mazda product?
