2.5 NA Cracked Cylinder Head with Oil leaking...How common is this?

Maybe the exhaust on the CX-50 has been reinforced? Better/more exhaust hanger bushings?

2.5 NA Cracked Cylinder Head with Oil leaking...How common is this?

I think the CX-50s have stiffer suspension compared to the CX-5. I believe @N7turbo's concern is based on the stiffer suspension paired with the road conditions. The changes to the head may be enough for the CX-5 or CX-9, but we don't know if the CX-50's suspension would cause any problems with...

Do not do that. We have separate threads for each issue to ensure that the information and reports provided for each issue are relevant. Thanks for the well written review! You mentioned that these are lightly used, but how many miles have you put on them yourself? Any issues with road noise? I'll copy a link to this review and post it in our Resources section. (y)

Coolant Leak Lawsuit Investigation for the CX-5, CX-9 and Mazda6

It's not like they're using it as an excuse to dismiss or minimize the severity the problem. It's to provide a more realistic expectation of the frequency of the problem, so that owners are better informed.

Engine and drivetrain noise (2016 CX-9)

Generally I don't put my car into gear right after startup, that's something my wife has a habit of doing :ROFLMAO: but even then, I don't think I've heard anything out of the ordinary when she does it. I usually let the car idle down or I'll wait like 20-30 seconds before putting it into gear...

DRL not turning off with parking brake (2014 CX-9)

Agree with @PTguy, likely a switch or relay in the circuit that is no longer functioning. With that info you could take it to a shop and they could confirm the diagnosis and/or perform the repair.

    2016~2023 CX-9 AWD - rear clunking noise

Quick summary of this whole thing. I hit a pothole just before winter. It put two dents in my summer wheels and caused a mild vibration at 60 km/h+. I filed a claim with my insurance provider and they agreed to R&R the two wheels and perform an alignment to hopefully resolve the vibrations...

2016 CX-9 DTC Code P0171 - Engine Revving Up and Down When Idling

Many years ago I had a car that started doing this. First thing I would check is to make sure there are no leaks in the air intake system - check the piping and the clamps to make sure they are tight. Check for any holes or cracks in the tubes. After that I would try cleaning the MAF sensor (use...

What have you done to your CX-9 today?

Hi @shawnee, it did fix the gaps for a while, but they just came back after a couple of years. I don't think it's worth it to buy another set of fender guards just to fix the gaps, they're around $150-200 CAD per side over here.

    2024 vs 2025 CX-90...Worth waiting for..?

I have to agree. In addition to those QC adjustments, they also always make some quality of life adjustments or modifications for each model year, so it might be worth waiting to see what those might be. For example, one of the reasons I got my 2018 CX-9 is because they improved 3rd row...

Calling for pitchforks before you've even seen it? Sounds like you already have a bias.

    91 vs 93 octane and GT-R/Sg trim CX-5

I'm not familiar with the Russian specifications/requirements, but the recommended fuel should be listed in your Owner's Manual for the car. Higher octane will be safer, but may also be unnecessary.

    Buzzing sound 2023 CX-5

If its more of a buzz than a whistle, it's probably vibration in the high pressure fuel line bracket. I think there was a TSB that instructed techs to apply foam tape or something similar on the bracket to eliminate the buzzing.
