2nd Gen CX-9 High mileage club, how's it holding up?

Not sure. I do know that the technician had a difficult time removing the exhaust bolts up by/at the turbo. But the car is running great (always has) and the CEL is no longer lit.

2nd Gen CX-9 High mileage club, how's it holding up?

Edit: 2016 Mazda CX-9 Grand Touring with 69,500 miles My wife’s 2016 CX-9 just had its first major repair. It threw a P0962 (I think?) code, basically a catalytic converter code. Mazda initially updated the programming to the ECM but the light came back in a week later. Dealer ordered the cat...

2nd gen owners transfer case service

Sorry the only thing I can tell you is I had the dealer replace the trans, and transfer case fluid. Didnt hear how it looked. But its cheap insurance. By the way currently at 44,000 miles.

16-17 owners ... what warranty work have you needed?

Currently have almost 42,000 miles on our 16 GT AWD. Warranty issues have consisted of squeaky rear suspension (replaced with no issues ) and a constant concern with the infotainment system. Weve had blank screens, locked screens, etc... numerous updates and a screen replacement (all under...

Any higher mileage 2nd Gen CX-9's out there?

I had our 2016 de-carboned at 30,000 miles as part of a 30,000 mile service. While it wasnt a recommended service from the dealer, I was curious as to how things were looking. Good news, dealer said there was very minimal carbon buildup and didnt recommend doing it when we reach 60,000 miles...

    Undercarriage/Muffler Rust on 2014 CX-9?

Unfortunately my phone will not allow me to view the image. The exhaust in these are made out of stainless steel, so while there may be some surface rust, there should be any rust through for many years,if ever. If you feel it is questionable have a mechanic look at it and get their opinion. Oh...

20,000 Miles On My 2015 Mazda 6 - List of Problems So Far

I have a contrasting opinion. I now run exclusively 93 octane in my 16 Mazda 6. The biggest difference to me that I notice vs 87 octane is the power delivery on acceleration. To my carefully calibrated butt the power delivery seems much more linear with premium fuel (note: I accelerate fairly...

    2017 Front Grill Replacement

Im not sure but many times nowadays the grille is integrated into the whole nose/number assembly. Hopefully for you Im wrong on this when it comes to the CX-9. A few days ago my 16 year old daughter rubbed the corner of her right front bumper against the rear left corner of a 2017 Acura MDX...

Wow its fast and good looking - 2018 Camry V6... Mazda need to up the game

I did see that C&D somehow achieved 45mpg with their 75mph Highway test. Mazda 6 earned 37 mpg in the same test. Is that even possible? If so, what kind of top gear ration is Camry using? Sounds too good to be true!

    CR CX-9 Reliability Nosedive

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2010 CX-9 FWD. My wife loved the way it drove (and quite frankly so did I, though Im not much of an SUV fan). Reliability was excellent, only issue being some pre-ignition in the engine while it was warming up, but that didnt really concern me much. Wed still have it if...

Sudden Unintentional Acceleration Of 2016 CX-9?

Ive actually had the opposite experience as the OP. My big feet sometimes hits the corner of the brake while pushing on the gas. Every single time I do the computer chops the throttle and I momentarily worry something is wrong with the car. With this said, I did it very hard to believe the OPs...

    Poor Replacement Parts

Modified? By putting the same part back on that was taken off? You do realize that many new cars need repairs before theyre sold, right?

    Poor Replacement Parts

Why not? Whats wrong with taking an abs wheel sensor off a new car to get a customers vehicle up and going, and then put the new part on the new car? Wouldnt younrather have your car to drive rather than some loaner?

    Poor Replacement Parts

In my opinion a good dealer will take part off a new inventory vehicle and fix the customers vehicle, especially with a vital safety item such as this. Perhaps you can mention this to the dealer?

20,000 Miles On My 2015 Mazda 6 - List of Problems So Far

23k on my 16 and only issue I will eventually take it in for is an intermittent overly sensitive passenger weight sensor that tells me to buckle the passenger seat when I put my phone on it. Im kind of regretting buying the manual trans but at least the slushbox performs very well. Definitely...

    CR CX-9 Reliability Nosedive

Ive been curious about the engine issues CR has cited. Because I havent seen much here in this forum. Perhaps the number of CX-9 respondents is low so any issues pop up exaggerating any issues that do pop up. While on the topic, Im a huge fan of True Delta (truedelta.com) for reliability data...
