    New Member Here...Considering CX-9

Had ours since June 2016, and its been almost perfect. The iPad display replaced early on, but thats it. Still drives like new. Leather is still perfect. If I somehow wrecked it, a new CX9 would replace it. Its not the largest inside, compared to my brothers Explorer, but its just so much more...

    2016 CX-9 Wiper Blade Connector

I looked again here in Canada, nothing. The dealer had the blade refills, $8 EA CDN. Took all of 2 minutes to install, so I'm happy.

    Brakes Servicing - recommended?

I was under the impression this service took the caliber off, disassembled the slider/clips and regreased the clips...prevents seizing in corrosive environments. Other Mazdas I have had used this process.

    Durability of leather

Second this. 16 Sig, it still looks perfect. Occasional conditioning, lots of neglect!

2017 CX-9 rusting paint? Only been through one winter

Ah, surface rust...really shows in white paint. My Dodge had this issue, as it was my airport car, parked in Detroit for days on end: rail dust, industrial contaminants in the air. Never ending. A good scrub got the easy stuff off, clay bar for the harder stuff. To be fair, I never cared for...

    Infotainment display TSB

Are you able to post a TSB reference? My 2016 had the screen replaced early on, due to failure. Since then, I have had a few times where it goes dead (audio still works). Restarting the car fixes it, for now.

I recorded the noises in my CX9 Turbo. Here the samples.

The suspension noise sounds like a rubber bushing is failing on one of the strut/springs/sway bar. Not normal, and should be fixed under warranty. Putting the car up on a drive-on lift, and bouncing it should identify the noise easily. Those brakes are noisy! Do you ever brake hard, from a high...

    CX-9 performance in snow?

My CX-9 replaced a RWD Dodge Magnum, so it was much better in snow for me! I have Michelin X-Ice tires. One of the biggest improvements for me was ground clearance...my old Magnum could get jammed with snow underneath, and it was tough to keep the momentum needed for deep snow. Other than that...

    The Mazda CX-9 sales mystery

Agreed...it was the 1st gen 3. But perceptions are what they are, and a large group of people will not touch a Mazda again. Just like my dad, who still complains about his 80s Fords. People have long, often irrational, memories.

    The Mazda CX-9 sales mystery

A minor data point, at least here in the rust belt...The first gen Mazda 3 sold extremely well here in Canada, challenging the Civic some years for top car. All those buyers, many of them young buyers, owned Mazda 3s. Fast forward 13 years, and these people are married with kids, and may be...

Car and Driver long-term update - 25K, no problems

It's a long time challenge for Mazda...They often do really well in comparisons. They auto press rates them high for the drive and the style. But that praise doesn't move the needle on anything that isn't a CX-5. Not sure how to get more people to try it out...Does Mazda put any of these into...

    What Service After The Sale?

That's terrible. I always hear that a dealership's money is in the service, since the margins on new sales aren't great. Our local Mazda dealer is small, but they are owned by the people that own the huge Honda dealer. Service has very good, I have nothing but praise. I also have an alternate...

2016/2017 CX-9 FM radio reception issues

No issues with my 2016, it's comparable to my other cars (also Mazda)

Just Bought a 2017 GT AWD - Love it but why such bad gas mileage?

Your numbers do seem really low...Motorweek just updated their long term CX-9, and showed 24 mpg average.

Just Bought a 2017 GT AWD - Love it but why such bad gas mileage?

I noticed my mileage got much better after ~1500 km...Not sure if the ECM runs a different profile for a certain mileage for break in...Or if its just the engine breaking itself in. I have almost got 30 mpg on a long, flat winding drive, mostly 2 lane roads at ~50 mph. At true highway speeds...

    Intermittent no start

I had 2 separate instances like this on ours: One was corrosion inside the starter cable. Water had seeped past the end lugs, and got inside the copper. After much diagnosis, my mechanic jumpered around that cable, and it worked fine. Once we removed the starter cable and cut the insulation, you...

    Rust Proofing your new Mazda?

Hey Andre, I'm in Ontario, too, and have thought about this...I suggest you poke your head under your CX-9 and take a look at how accessible the undercarriage is for spraying a Krown coat (or similar). There are a series of panels and covers, made up of a sound deadening material...probably also...

Cargo Space Questions: Family Of 4 & A Dog

Canadian measurement for reference: Hockey stick and 2-4 of beer. Not sure if this helps...If your pup will be riding in the back, could he make this jump? The roof may be a little low for him to sit up.

    '16/'17 0-60 Unleaded vs. Premium

I'll eat some crow here...I am into my 2nd tank of 91, after a long stint on 87, and its a noticeable difference. Torque off the line seems similar, but after the turbo spools, there is more power. Highway passing power is much improved, as it pulls harder at higher revs. This must be the extra...
