Mazda Protege/Premacy 1.8 - Metalic sound from the motor compartment/front of the car

I don't know the answer but I also have phantom metallic sounds. Subscribing. I have been guessing it's related to my valve train but I also know with 220k on my engine I'm not spending the money to fix it. When she gets ready to go I'm getting a rust free P5 chassis and dropping a KL...

    Friendly advice please.

I don't have the same setup as I used the STI S204 lip, but I secured it with screws every 4 inches or so.

Free stuff. MPV wiper stalk, Redline shift boot, exhaust gaskets

Does the MPV wiper stalk operate the rear wiper on a P5 and have adjustable intermittent wipe on the front? I can't tell from the photo.

    Strange gas issue...need help

I actually think my mileage is about the same, but the symptoms appear sooner. I used to be able to go to about an 1/8 of a tank, then about a 1/4, and now about 3/8. I also am putting in less gallons when I'm filling up, so I know it's happening at higher fuel levels, not just the gauge going...

    Strange gas issue...need help

Maybe I'll check car-parts.com for one. It sure sounds like that's the root problem. Fuel pump issues are a side-effect.

    Strange gas issue...need help

Maybe I will replace the fuel pump then, because it has gotten worse...I used to be able to go about 350 miles before I noticed it, then 300, now if I go past 250 I can notice it. Any fuel pump recommendations for a mostly stock P5 motor? I just have headers, intake, and MP3 ECU. I'm not...

    Strange gas issue...need help

So I have a weird fuel delivery issue in my protege5 with about 220k miles. When I get around 1/3 of a tank my engine starts misfiring and occasionally losing all power. This gets worse when I take left-hand turns. When I bought the vehicle the seller told me he had replaced the gas tank...

Handling upgrade on 2002 Protege5 questions.

I tend to make poor choices when it comes to changing rims and wheels so I'm not going to comment about that. I will tell you that there are multiple generations of mazda6 front calipers and rotors that are a perfect fit. Rear Mazda 6 calipers will require some parking brake modifications so I...

    Warburrito's eco / aero Protege5 build *new

I payed $96.75 USD to seller fastpartswarehouse on eBay... http://www.ebay.com/usr/fastpartswarehouse?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2754 Got reading last night and found these AmpCo Oilers. It might be a good alternative to a windshield wiper water/meth injector...maybe. Still need to read a bit...

    Warburrito's eco / aero Protege5 build *new

So far I've noticed no significant gains with the MP3 ecu...even though I'm not using my AC anymore.. Bummer I'd like to find a gauge that will measure low level vacuum/boost levels at different spots on the front of my car and within intake piping for the design of my air intake system. Does...

    WTB: MP3 ECU $150 shipped

Do you mean ECU flash? If so I could have gone that route but I'd like to be able to restore it to stock if necessary. Because of the rust this P5 will probably not be my last. I'd like to keep things swappable between this one and another I may pick up in the future.
