What have you done to your Mazda5 today?

That's what I thought, that's why I bought it. It grabs quick and hard. Fine if you want to go fast, or have fun on a backroad. Not so good for daily commuting in Seattle traffic. Maybe it will break in a bit & we will develop some muscle (memory) for it.

What have you done to your Mazda5 today?

Hey, that teflon trick is new to me, thanks! Wish I had done it last weekend, installing new bushings. Lube: The prices are all over the place for it. A while back I bought this and the price seems fair. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000MW5SJ4/?tag=m20b7-20 Sorry, there was no time for...

What have you done to your Mazda5 today?

Went to town, shopping. Clutch is on it's way out. Friend (Volvo nut) agreed to help out and will let me use his lift. Will probably drag it out over two Saturdays. One for removal & cleaning, one for putting it all together. ACT Heavy Duty clutch Redline trans fluid Will also do the swaybar...

Clutch choices - dismissing OEM, Stage1 ACT vs Exedy and 3rd OE equivalents

Hi, In a week I have booked some lift time in a friend's garage, ready to order parts for clutch replacement Own a 2006 Mazda5 2.3l 5spd (posting here since clutch, trans, engine is the same and M3 section is more active, likely has more clutch opinions) Sifting through the forum it...

Installed 1st Gen Mazdaspeed seats in 1st Gen Mazda5

For those who have done this a while back, how are the buttock bolsters holding up? The Mazda5 has a higher entry / seating position, I image one would cause more wear getting in & out of the car?!

Changing out a clutch...How long does it take?

A tad OT: Set aside that most 11yr old cars that get beaten up&down "horrible hilly dirt roads" daily will develop a hunger for maintenance and repairs. I fail to grasp the mentality here. Given the labor cost for a clutch job, it would be ill advised to save money on a clutch and flywheel by...

    Leak in the Hatch area

Engine Rattling/Ticking upon startup which then settles once the engine warms up

How long ago was the last oil change? Any odd oil weight used? On my older Mazdas, ticking was always a good indicator it's time for ab oil change. If you come out of the store, the engine is still warm, the oil still thin.

Wierd problem after siting for a few months.

My weed whacker does the same thing, it's normal *jk My first try would be to disconnect the battery for 10mins, reconnect, try again. Sensor issue? Any signs of critter damage from sitting over the winter?

The 100K (Mile or Kilometer) Mazda5 Club

At 114k now... Since I also drive older Volvos, I thought I'd troll a little here (not mine):

Rear Wheel Camber is Eating Tires

Moog sounds fine. I changed mine with SPC ($65 ea on Ebay with shipping). Here is a potential issue with the common design of these: If you have an alignment done, it may be labor intensive to properly adjust them. You cannot get a wrench on the adjuster screw once they are mounted! That part...

Do trailing arms go bad or is it just the bushing?

I think you can change out the bushing but going through the shop, changing the complete arm is likely less expensive (less labor).

    Changing rear bushes

Maybe it is my English (not native), which part is meant by "rear hub/suspension bush" ?

What have you done to your Mazda5 today?

Took advantage of the break in the rain on Saturday. Replaced front breaks, flushed brake fluid all around, changed to DOT4. Yay, cap from pressure bleeder for a Volvo also fits the Mazda. Put in the adj. rear control arms. MAN, I wish I would've read about the exhaust hanger issue before. Lots...

    All Season Tire Recommendation

I agree. We did not splurge for the performance one, bought Michelin Premier A/S. Very quiet, comfortable & plenty of grip. Also Michelin's mileage warranty is among the best you can find in the business.

What have you done to your Mazda5 today?

Found a M5 in the local self-service JY and pulled a few things. Yay, factory interior mirror. Replaced tail-lights with later style. My bargain basement M5 came w/o adjustable intermittent wipers, a feature I really miss in rainy PNW. Grabbed the stalk with that feature - it's plug & play...
