    2012 - 2017 Mazda5 serpentine belt replacement

Interesting. I've never seen those red plastic tools before. I just replaced the serpentine belt on my 2013 last weekend. It was more involved than most belts I've replaced. I put a long wrench on the belt tensioner pulley bolt, then used an old motorcycle tie down around the wrench and sway...

The 100K (Mile or Kilometer) Mazda5 Club

Sunday May 12, 2019. My 5 reached 100,000 miles. The tires are still wearing evenly since I installed the adjustable upper rear control arms a couple years ago. (cheerbanana)

    Mazda5 ATF Recommendations...Fluid, cooler, filter?

Yep. That's why I cut a hole in my 5's splash shield on the first trans fluid flush/change I did. Easy breezy after that, but still a bit sloppy as some tranny fluid inevitably runs into the splash shield.

    Post pics of your Mazda5

That looks rugged and stealthy. (naughty) Are ya gonna leave it two-tone with the shiny roof? :)

    Water leak

Not yet. Have you figured it out?

What have you done to your Mazda5 today?

That's a lot of great work, Ronen. (2thumbs)

    Mazda5 Lifespan

I'm glad to hear these higher mileages on the Mazda 5 auto-tranny. I hope to get 200,000 miles out of my 5, and if I can get there with the same transmission it would be very impressive. Of course, I'm doing the transmission flush every 30,000 miles with 3 behind me and another due at the...

Rear Wheel Camber is Eating Tires

A late check in at 94,000 miles. 19,000 miles since my last post and the tires are wearing nice and even on the rear (front too). It looks like I'll get at least two years out of a set of tires now instead of the one year I was getting before installing the SPC parts. (dance)

    Noise when reversing

That pad thickness looks fine. Of course, I'm assuming the other three pads on the rear brakes look the same. My 2013 rear brakes groan, too. Currently, my 5 has 78,200 miles. At 58,600 miles I replaced my rear pads. One pad wore out much too quickly before the other three did. It irked me...

    Air conditioner issues

+1, it could be the blower has died or is about to die. I've had that happen with other cars, but usually they make squealing noises from the bushings/bearings going bad before they die outright. I'm not sure how the Mazda blower resistor is wired, but when I've had it fail in other cars the...

Anyone Get The Lift Gate Strut Recall Fix Yet?

A smart decision, no doubt. I tend to be a contrarian. (lol2)

Anyone Get The Lift Gate Strut Recall Fix Yet?

I saw that recall notice and shredded it. I just dislike the dealer experience that much. (boom02) I can't remember the last time I've ever had a car in a dealership for service. Oh wait, late 1990s for collision repair of a '95 GMC truck due to someone rear ending me and the negligent party's...

Nice. I'm going to have to remember that. :)

Rear Wheel Camber is Eating Tires

I had the front right strut of my 5 blow its oil out all over the inside of the wheel well and inside of the wheel. That front right wheel was bouncing pretty hard with no shock absorbing going on. Strange that the strut only made it to 75,000 miles. (sadbanana) Anyway, I had the front struts...

Rear Wheel Camber is Eating Tires

I just put in the new SPC rear upper arms in my 5. Surprisingly all I had to do to remove the upper bolt on the driver's side was move the exhaust off the last three hangers. The bolt just angled out with just a hair of clearance after that. Thanks to all that contributed to this thread. I...

Are there any adjustable rear shocks for the 5 ?

None that I know of. I was hoping to find some bolt in coil over shocks to help with the load I carry, but no one makes those either.

After 170,000 trouble free miles, my 2010 Mazda 5 threw a rod!

Sorry to hear about the loss of the engine and the entire 5. I hardly ever see 0w20 or 0w30 around where I live. The shelves are full of 5w20 and 5w30. I usually just use 5w30 dino oil year round and change it every 5000 miles. Of course, I live near the Gulf coast, so that has something to...

Rear Wheel Camber is Eating Tires

I haven't posted in some time, but I'm fed up with my rear tire wear now. I've had the rear toe in adjusted for the weight I carry and the inside of the rear tires still wear prematurely. My current set of tires have made it about 25,000 miles and now cord is starting to show. I ordered a set...
