2010 Mazda 3 Hatch, GT, Headlight Assembly Replacement Part

My 2010 Mazda 3 GT has a blown headlight and the assembly has condensation inside it. Obviously it's not sealed. My dealer said it will cost ~ $900 Canadian for a new assembly. It has the levelling adjustment as original equipment. I see the Canadian model (daylight running lights, with self...

CX-5 Android Auto / Apple CarPlay

Mine no longer works. Since I got an upgrade to the maps 2 years ago, ~ 90% of my voice searches respond with "Voice search is not available in this country". My display shows "AL" as my location, even though the map shows exactly where I am in Canada. I have spent literally hours emailing and...

    Trouble Reading with Safari Desktop

I am posting from my iPhone because the forum will not load on my Mac running the latest operating system and the latest version of Safari. I have the coloured beach ball spinning and have had so for five minutes. This has happened each time Ive tried to read the forums recently. I cant see...

    Yep, another snow tire thread...

I have to buy snows for trips away from the coast this winter. My 2015 CX5 normally runs 19 wheels. I plan to get 17 wheels and higher profile snows. 225-17 Blizzaks on for a great price at Costco. Any reason I should NOT run 17 wheels /tires with the same diameter as my 19 wheels/tires?

6MT, 2 liter...can it handle this hairy situation?

Maybe a bit exaggerated since internet search says steepest paved street is 19 degrees. Even if that's not it, 45 degrees is eons worse. Even stairs are not as steep as 45 degrees.

6MT, 2 liter...can it handle this hairy situation?

Seriously, a 45 degree hill? That's nearly a 71% grade! I didn't think such a road existed anywhere. I'd be surprised if my CX-5 can even power up a 45 degree hill from a standing start.

    Continental True Contact Review

I bought Continental True Contacts in the stock 19" size in October 2015. It didn't snow enough last winter to find out whether they're an acceptable compromise for occasional snow. But now we're getting it. With 3" of fresh snow on top of the previous night's snow/melt/refreeze I drove through...

    New 2017 CX-5 Revealed

I was waiting to see if anyone would catch the irony. Nope! Well done! ;-) The improvements that would make the most difference to me are 1) better sound system, and 2) better noise reduction. I'd opt for electronic (active noise cancellation) rather than hauling around 200 lb of high density...

    Autolock not always locking

I don't. Replacing the car is the "nuclear option" and should be reserved for a defect that seriously reduces the usability and value of the purchase. Your Mazda has more than 100 features. Some of critical and the car is useless without it - engine, brakes, windows, doors, etc. Virtually nobody...

Future CX-5 owner concerned about transmission

Yes. I can't imagine why anyone would invite transmission trouble by doing otherwise.

Real World MPG Testing - 2016 CX5 - GT with AWD

I'm amazed that people think quoting MPG means something WITHOUT also quoting the average speed for the tank(s) in question. Let me reiterate: there's a relationship between speed and fuel consumption, folks. Your comments about how fast you recall driving are next to useless.

    G Vectoring Engineering deep dive

That Mazda 6 station wagon in the 3rd video is the car I'd rather have than my CX-5.

Why does my 2015 CX5 constantly want to up-shift when in automatic mode?

I've got used to the 2015 CX-5 auto and love it. I can shift down whenever I want by giving it a quick poke with my foot. Not flooring it, not jamming it, just depressing it an inch or so quickly. There's no need to lug the engine at 1100 rpm when you need to accelerate more briskly. Simply poke...

How To Acquire Non-US Spec Head Restraints for a US-spec CX-5

I can't, and I'm only 5'9" with a 30" inseam. They barely extend high enough for me. I don't recommend them for anyone who must carry anyone taller than ~ 5'7" regularly. That said, I'm delighted with the appearance and the improved rear vision.

which company gas works better for Mazda Cx5

When anyone posts their gas mileage they should also post the average speed for that tank. There's an important relationship between the two.

which company gas works better for Mazda Cx5

Another thing people should keep in mind when comparing mileage between vehicles (and from tank to tank) is the average speed readout. I haven't changed the average speed - IOW, it's now the average for all ~30,000 kms driven on the vehicle, and it sits at 40 kph (24.8 mph). My CX-5 has a...

which company gas works better for Mazda Cx5

I'm guessing 1 mpg is within the margin of error. IOW, may be no significant difference due to variables and measurement error.

2016 Mazda CX-9 ENGINEERING REVIEW w/ Mazda Engineer Dave Coleman

15 years, more than 100,000 miles on my 1995 Volvo turbo. 8 years, 75,000 mi on my 1988 Mazda turbo. No problems with either. I did however, consider the turbochargers to be consumable parts.

Faint Gasoline Smell After Fuel Filler Recall

The dealer is in a large auto mall between a Honda dealer that provides first class service and an infinity dealer - don't know their record. I've taken cars to 3 dealers in that mall, and all provided very good service. I wonder whether the nearby location of competitors keeps them honest. Very...
