Hesitation-Lunging While Moving Slow and Pressing Pedal @ Zero Throttle

Ok, maybe I need to rewrite what I wrote. This isn't "normal" by any means, I realize the car will bog down if the rpms are too low. This is different. I'll try to get a more accurate RPM range when I leave work today, when moving the RPMs aren't dropping down to idle, the car should perform...

Hesitation-Lunging While Moving Slow and Pressing Pedal @ Zero Throttle

PCV valve and and O2 have both been replaced. Forgot to mention that. Yes the car is completely stock. I assume when you say AFR you are saying Air fuel ratio?

Hesitation-Lunging While Moving Slow and Pressing Pedal @ Zero Throttle

Alright, the title isn't the full details. So I've had this problem ever since I bought this car about 3 years ago. If I start from a stop it's fine, when moving at a decent speed at higher rpm it's fine. However in traffic if the RPMs drop too far and I do not have any throttle input then...

What to do about pre-cat failure In California

Also, Are the 50 state CA CARB physically different than the 49 state versions? I understand what CARB is in California. But I'm curious is they are manufactured differently? Or one just has the CARB stamp on it.

What to do about pre-cat failure In California

Hi guys, didn't mean to abandon this thread. I'm going to replace the precat. I have a decent knowledge and won't have trouble replacing it except the bolts and rubber stuff (Shakes fist in air). One question, I don't hear and exhaust leak anywhere nor a ticking noise from the e. manifold...

What to do about pre-cat failure In California

I've had my P5 for two years, and I've had the precat failure this entire time. I've ignored it and just went about my merry way until now. I need to smog it, and sell the car. It's been a fun car most of the time but I need to get this fixed or passably fixed. I read about the non-fouler and...

    Driver Side Front Suspension Issues

Question, what is this nylon shim you speak of? I replaces the strut bearing what ever it's called. Those are plastic with nylon in the middle I believe. I think I'll order the lower control arms and the sway bar bushings.

    Driver Side Front Suspension Issues

Ok so the entire time I've had this car I've been plagued with issues. Mostly suspension issues. One issues I've not been able to pin down is what appears to be a metal to metal squeak when turning the wheel, and slop in the suspension in this same location in acceleration or when other...

AC/heater Control Unit (Also wiring if available)

Pulled my radio to install the Miata cubby and I decided to investigate why only three of 4 fan settings (well 5, 0-4). Turns out at some point there was some sort of Dumb to ground issue from a previous owner and part of the harness melted, wires are exposed and the control doesn't work right...

Brake issue *soft pedal* after caliper and MS replacement. - NON-ABS

Hey guys, I'm back. got the new caliper in, and adjusted both. I think air is still in the system somewhere as mentioned above. i think it's time to start over with the bleeding process. I'm going to pick up a BM bleeder and do it over, then rebleed all 4 corners. When attempting to get the...

Cannot retract rear caliper piston far enough

Small update, the C-clamp worked. A little fluid shot out the main inlet and it freed up after that. Tightened everything down started the car AND................................................. same problem, well specifically my original issue, soft pedal. So now back to where I was before...

Cannot retract rear caliper piston far enough

Thank you both for the response, I was a little afraid to use the C-clamp to push it back as I was worried about if there is debris (crud) pushing over the seal. But both are good advice, I have removed cylinders before so I can remove it (carefully) and clean it. But I will try the above...

Cannot retract rear caliper piston far enough

I don't really understand if your post was meant to be a joke? Or maybe you didn't read my entire description. if you are implying I don't know how to move the piston by adjusting the screw (after taking the cover bolt off) you didn't read what I wrote. Again, when I adjust the screw...

Cannot retract rear caliper piston far enough

So on my rear driver side caliper piston cannot be retracted far enough to fit over the new pads. Otherside is fine. When I rotate the screw to move the piston it move smoothly and I can move it in or outward. But it get to a point where the screw rotation is a little rough almost as though...

Brake issue *soft pedal* after caliper and MS replacement. - NON-ABS

Hey guys, didn't mean to ditch out on the thread, I apologize. So I may have found the *current* cause: faulty caliper assembly on the replacement caliper. I noticed that even light presses on the brakes (motor on or off) that the replacement caliper was rotating as if the lower side pin was...

Brake issue *soft pedal* after caliper and MS replacement. - NON-ABS

I doubt it's the booster because if it were to fail I would have the opposite effect. I did bench bleed it. But it's possible I didn't do it right or that isn't trapped.

Brake issue *soft pedal* after caliper and MS replacement. - NON-ABS

Questions: - Is there anything *different* or troublesome about the system (non-abs) - is there a disti valve or proportioning valve that can get air stuck in it. - is there a very specific method to priming the master cylinder? (I have seen some cars that have bleed valves, etc) - Any other...

2003 Cranks but no start - What is the noise?

if the air doesn't pass through the intake sensor (whatever it's called on this car) The ECU will not be able to time the car correctly. , you need it installed. Start there, then make sure the manifold is tightened down properly. Also check to make sure the 02 is plugged in correctly...
