MPG/ride quality loss with bigger rims

You will get worse MPG when you go larger. It's just physics. Not in this car, but when we went from 18 to 20's, we lost about 10% highway mpg.

too much windscreen condensation and poor cabin filters

Condensation comes from the temp differential of the cabin bs outside. I think perhaps the thinner glass and less insulated nature causes the greater temp differential.

2013~2016 CX-5 squeaky power door lock actuator?

My two rear doors are very noisy, but only on unlock.

Considering buying a X- AVIS Rental 14' CX 5 AWD Touring

Unless you are getting a hell of a deal, I am not sure why you would consider an ex-rental. I rent very often due to business travel. While I don't abuse them, I see clear evidence of abuse by others. It isn't urban legend. It is a fact that many people simply don't care about other people's...

    CX-5 Ebay Fog Assembly DRLs

No reason Paul. I use a fuse tap to get power and another fuse tap to dim the fogs. I bought some H11 wire extensions so I can tap into that (instead of actual harness) so I can turn off these LEDs when the fogs are on.

new Mazda infotainment system firmware for CX-5 with TomTom coming soon

You know, I tried the nav for about 15 minutes when I first got the car. After that, I try not to use it. I have never liked TomTom maps in the past, and still don't like them now. I got the GT because of the leather seats and the auto climate control and the larger wheels. The nav being...

    Alarm system question

Yes it's normal. You can leave the key in the car or crack the door open. There may be other ways... but those are the two I've used myself.

High Mileage CX-5s - report in

There are SO many other variables that can make those 4-6% not matter in REAL life driving. I just got 31.x+ in Houston rush hour traffic. Could I have gotten better MPG in the 2.0? Sure. But my original statement is still true, there is not much of a mpg penalty. But, to each their own. If...

High Mileage CX-5s - report in

There's really no mileage penalty with the 2.5, so why order the 2.0?

High Mileage CX-5s - report in

Kedis, only 12,000 miles per year? Wife's 2013 Accord, purchased last June, already has over 36,000 miles. :) Should have 300k miles if we kept it for 10 years.

    Inspection Required error messages

Was that a device installed by the dealer or did you install it? If by dealer, I'd make them pay.

    CX-5 Infotainment System is Garbage

I think there might be something wrong with your unit. HD radio is perfectly acceptable in this car, assume you are ACTUALLY getting HD. FM sans HD is unusually terrible in this car. It's really easy to confirm. Just go drive another one on the lot to test and see if it is any different...

    CX-5 Infotainment System is Garbage

I had an 07 Si. That one of the few cars where Honda got the radio "right"... or at least better than most other Civic products. What source were you listening to on the CX5? I find that non HD FM is particularly bad in this car, but the HD signal is much cleaner.

    2015 CX-5 Electrical/startup problems - anyone else?

No, it will lead to Toyota denying that there's a problem for 2-3 years, then a massive recall will ensue. :)

    Corksport Interior LED Kit

The Owner's Manual is pretty clear about unplugging it. On page 6-48 it says: "Caution: When replacing the bulb always disconnect the connector first. Otherwise, electric and electronic devices could be shorted." It's interesting that they have to be so explicit about this... something in...

Looking for a Class III Hitch?

I came across this because I was looking at the install instructions and noticed 4 part numbers on it, including one for uhual. I started googling around and realized the 44677 was Reese. That lead me to Amazon for the $122 price. Bought it immediately... that's some $70 cheaper than the...

Looking for a Class III Hitch?

Draw-Tite, Hidden Hitch, Reese are all owned by the same company. The install instruction is the same for all three companies for the CX-5. And instead of ~$190, Amazon has the Reese version for $122. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B009F5AHGI/?tag=m20b7-20 I just bought one myself. Enjoy.

    CX-5 Ebay Fog Assembly DRLs

Tech DRL does not have a separate fuse I've found. I ended up just going ghetto style, unplugged the connector. If anyone has an idea, I'd be happy to try it out. I couldn't get the DRL procedure to work on mine.
