    Should Mazda consider a 4 or 5 seater CX-9?

Imagine a Mazda CX 9 with . . . huge pano roof 8 spd transmission heated/ ventilated seats F/R 6 way rear seats 4 way lumbar support and a leg cushion extension on driver's seat 8 way passenger seat sliding and reclining rear seats wireless charging F/R driver attention warning wrap around...

    What new Mazda is coming?

If a new model is needed in Mazda's lineup in the US, a two-row, comfy, mid-sized SUV should be it. I began a discussion about this. Here is one of the posts: The 2019 Consumer Reports Auto Issue is out now. Their mid-sized SUV category is now officially split into 'three row' and 'two row. #1...

    Should Mazda consider a 4 or 5 seater CX-9?

Interesting that Volvo is now a Chinese company. Their new SUVs are getting decent reviews with a few thinking they could use more HP. For many though, Volvo equals safety first, first.

The Thor's Hammer LED DRLs on the new Volvos look as good as any out there.

    Should Mazda consider a 4 or 5 seater CX-9?

Performance 2-Row SUVs Some more observations about two-row SUVs are that the new four seater from Rolls Royce, the Cullinan, is already backordered big time. RR greatly underestimated the demand. Porsche does not offer any three row SUVs but sells a boatload (for them) of Cayennes and Macans...

    Should Mazda consider a 4 or 5 seater CX-9?

Fillin' the Gap Appreciate your opinion on this but I do not share it. CR's overall #1 rated (88) BMW X5 SUV offers either 2 or 3 rows. Believe Audi does the same. Two-row trend is accelerating with the new top rated Hyundai Santa Fe leading the way. Nissan Murano has always had two row...

    Should Mazda consider a 4 or 5 seater CX-9?

That's why I'm keen to see a two row CX 9. No R & D costs, etc. just some interior changes and Mazda will have a roomy-two-row SUV. If it happens I hope they don't try to market it as an adventure SUV like Honda is doing for the just-on-sale Passport and instead focus on the outstanding...

    Should Mazda consider a 4 or 5 seater CX-9?

The great reviews of the CX 9 usually include some reference to it being one of the smaller three-row, mid-sized SUVs. Just makes more sense to me for Mazda to make this already fine chassis/body the base of a two row, mid-sized SUV than to use an even smaller platform. As to the number of...

    Should Mazda consider a 4 or 5 seater CX-9?

Split Decision The 2019 Consumer Reports Auto Issue just came out. The mid-sized SUV category is now officially split into 'three row' and 'two row. #1 in 3 row was the new Subaru Ascent, the CX 9 was sixth, just ahead of the Pilot. Interestedly the 'old' Santa Fe XL (V6) was #4. It will be...

Consumer reports 2019 just rated the Subaru Forester #1. What was the Cx5's ranking?

Mazda is deservedly a favorite brand at C & D with the Miata perennially landing in their 10 Best. A lot of emphasis on fun to drive partially explains that connection. Reliability of brand doesn't hurt. While Mazda has really dialed in their turbo, Hyundai still has work to do there...

Consumer reports 2019 just rated the Subaru Forester #1. What was the Cx5's ranking?

Magazine name is in thread title. I would only need to mention a source if it were another source. Some confusion remains between the previous 3 row version of the Santa Fe (the XL, is temporally still for sale) along side of the totally new 2019 SF (2.5 inches wider) but the former actually...

Consumer reports 2019 just rated the Subaru Forester #1. What was the Cx5's ranking?

Now the mid-sized SUV category is split into 3 row and 2 row. #1 in 3 row was the new Subaru Ascent. #1 in 2 row was the new Hyundai Santa Fe.

    Hyundai N Products

Variable We have owned three Hyundais and have had no issues with the two dealers who have serviced them. Just bought a 2019 Santa Fe for $32K, (msrp $36,750). Just like any other brand, dealer experience will vary. I have also noticed that the mid sized Santa Fe has some reviews and many...

    I dumped my CX-5 finally

Figured you would go with something larger. 5s have actually gotten smaller since 2015. Really enjoying our new Santa Fe, especially the roomy interior and ventilated seats. The 5 year 60,000 mile bumper-to-bumper warranty is also a big plus.

    Should Mazda consider a 4 or 5 seater CX-9?

At worst mid-pack given current apps Mazda and 19 other automakers on board. NHTSA estimates that this agreement will make AEB standard on new cars three years faster than could be achieved through the formal regulatory process. Never seen AEB and FCW w/o LKA. However sometimes BSM is excluded...

    Should Mazda consider a 4 or 5 seater CX-9?

Just read up on Mazda iACTIVSENSE. The Mazda CX 9 is a top, IIHS pick but some components of iACTIVE are left off of some trims. My comments on driving impressions of the Honda and Hyundai safety packages, both also top rated, also w/superior avoidance & mitigation, tried to accurately...

    Should Mazda consider a 4 or 5 seater CX-9?

Steers well, will follow some longer radius turns, helps if alignment is dialed in & tires properly inflated, many variables to affect operation as you know. Under optimum conditions, a clear night, clear lane markings, medium to light traffic, traveling in center lane of an...

    Should Mazda consider a 4 or 5 seater CX-9?

Blind Spot Detection Have to give credit to Mazda for including Blind Spot Monitoring on most trims going back to 2014 when we bought a Mazda 3 Touring and CX 5 GT. Why mention this? Because BSM is one of the most used safety features (the rear view camera is #1) and comes on standard ALL CX...

    Should Mazda consider a 4 or 5 seater CX-9?

Active setting. If you change lanes without using a turn signal the car will aggressively try to keep you in your old lane but you can complete the move. If you are not trying to turn and the road curves, it will to a point, steer you thru it. Many variables involved. Works best on...

    Should Mazda consider a 4 or 5 seater CX-9?

Fwd - awd? You get get a front wheel drive CX 9 in all but the top trims. You can get a front wheel drive Santa Fe in ALL trims. If you get the lower trim levels of the Ridgeline you get front wheel drive, making it unique in the PU group. I remain impressed with Honda's AWD system even...
