The Future of the CX-5 - Strategic?

Going with just AWD would hurt CX-5 sales in the south. In the south, AWD offers no benefit since it doesn't snow, and costs you money unnecessarily in many ways; lower gas mileage, higher purchase cost, higher maintenance costs, slower acceleration due to heavier weight and more rotational...

    Rear Hatch not opening

Not sure about newer models but 2014 models had failures to open hatch because of moisture getting into the hand pushed switch. Solution is to replace the $32 switch. There is a TSB on this here. https://www.carcomplaints.com/Mazda/CX-5/2014/tsbs/tsb-09-035-14-2940.shtml

For those having Transmission Issues with their CX-5

Same thing happened to me this week. Started it up in morning and four dash lights came on; engine check, TBS, traction control, AT. Turned engine off and restarted and only engine check light came on solid. It drove fine for four mile trip. Later in day drove three miles and in traffic...

    CX-9 Skyactiv 2.5L turbo engine

No quarter mile times. Not even VBOX times. (cricket) Guess the prima donna went back to MSF where he is appreciated.

    CX-9 Skyactiv 2.5L turbo engine

You come on this forum making radical hp claims selling your $600 "tune" but offer no in depth details on how you achieve that or the tradeoffs, while acting like a prima donna and having little knowledge of the tools you are using. I wouldn't let you touch my CX-5 with a ten foot pole.

    CX-9 Skyactiv 2.5L turbo engine

YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT. Writing firmware was my life for 30 years. You have the gall to acuse others of being ignorant, while talking about stuff you you have no clue about. I've had enough of your BS. None have gotten info disassembling code and figuring it out, at...

He comes in here making huge claims that are highly questionable, and insults people. He's got it coming.

    CX-9 Skyactiv 2.5L turbo engine

More fitting, do you have any proof you know what you are doing? If you don't have inside access to Mazda's Engineers, you don't know any more than me because you are just guessing if you are soling relying on disassembled listings.

    CX-9 Skyactiv 2.5L turbo engine

The ECU will try to run as much timing it can without sensing knock, so indirectly adjusts for octane rating. I have spent many many years writing low level assembly programs. I was writing code before you were born. Just because you can disassembly a bin file doesn't mean anyone can...

    CX-9 Skyactiv 2.5L turbo engine

The ECU tests for octane indirectly with the knock sensor. I do not know the timing limitations, but ECU would certainly take advantage of 91 octane with timing in severe situation such as extreme summer heat while pulling a trailer. Its possible a tune could make it run more timing on 91...
