    Ok, Gas Mileage SUCKS!

I drive like a little old man - well because I am a little old man. I have 3K on my AWD touring. I get 29.5 per fill up on my local country roads. I haven't had it on a highway yet but expect even better. I knew before hand that AWD suffers in gas milage but I live in snow country and is almost...

    Starting cx5 with electrical issues

The problem has occurred a few more times however now I have an explanation. Occasionally when I sit in the car the fob is not registering with the starting sensor . I just take it out of my pocket , put it near the button, and start as usual. Not a big issue now that I understand it.

    Starting cx5 with electrical issues

Well you could be right. Never hurts though to study some wiring diagrams as soon as I find some. I have installed car security, head units and remote starters so there is usually a work around anything . True , I may be worried needlessly but my faith in technology only goes so far. If I...

    Starting cx5 with electrical issues

People are making some good points here. First let me say I love this push button type ignition. It is the darn handy thing. However after having it not respond once gave me pause for concern. My guess this occurred because I did not push hard enough on the brake. But suppose that is not the...

    Starting cx5 with electrical issues

I don't believe there is an auxiliary ignition on the cx5. There is a procedure for a dead fob battery. I think u hold the fob against the button and press. What I am concerned with is an electrical ignition that simply goes dead. I saw on another forum that it has happened - they had to call...

Sorry I should have made myself more clear . You are in the middle of no where . You test the battery with your handy volt meter and it is fine . Yet the car start button doesnt respond. What now?

    Starting cx5 with electrical issues

Yesterday I went to start the car but got no response from the button starter. I waited a few minutes and fortunately it worked. This however worried me. What if the button starter doesn't work? The manual says there is a forced start. Push and hold the start button to force start. If the issue...

    new personal best in mpg

My first fill up , measured manually, was 31.9 in my AWD. This is "country driving" a mix of city/highway but closer to highway but at reduced speed.

A Heads-Up Concerning the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)

I threw a TPI alert as I drove the vehicle home for the dealer. I reset the TPI as all the tires where over inflated and haven't had a reccurrence (one week later). While researching winter tires and wheels I came across this at tire rack: This vehicle relies on the wheel speed sensors in the...

    My new CX-5

simpletwig- Welcome- I am from way upstate (Canadian border/New York) and picked up mine last week. I feel exactly as you do. Being an old guy at 63 I also love the HID's at night , in deer country. I have owned some pretty cool cars in my day and so far this is in my top 2.

    Winter Treads

Another thing to think about is TPI sensors for the tires. However according to tire rack This vehicle relies on the wheel speed sensors in the hubs to monitor the tire pressure differences. Although no tire sensors are required, a TPMS reset is required so the vehicle learns the new tire...
