The 100K (Mile or Kilometer) Mazda5 Club

It still has basically the same mileage , I got a new f150 and have 50k on it since August. Be better to sell it then have it sit here but the manual trans has put off buyers.

    Mazda5 Lifespan

Mine, *12 sport, made 206,000 before the manual trans dropped. Otherwise brakes and rear shocks.

The 100K (Mile or Kilometer) Mazda5 Club

Lost the trans at 210,000. The crunchy synchros came back at 190,000, going to swap a 90,000 mile trans in and do the clutch while I’m in there. It’s a ‘12 sport.

    Mazda FS5A-EL transmission interchangeability

I’m hoping the same is true for the manual 6spd, mine ate itself at 210,000 miles last week and there are no listings for a “5” transmission but there are hundreds of “3” trans listed. $250 and a drive is a tolerable risk, I’ll report back.

    6mt "rubberiness"?

I put a JBR shift plate in my '12 and it made a world of difference. The cables are still good on mine at 176k so I doubt that's the problem. Let us know what you find!

What have you done to your Mazda5 today?

Brakes tonight if they show up, first order showed up but as I attempted to install the rears the caliper bracket bolts BROKE off. Never seen that before. No problem, I'll drill them out, EZ out and re-tap the threads. Nope ez-out broke off in hole. Next worked but tap broke off in hole. Ok, new...

    Mazda5 real-world Mileage numbers

While I said this ^ a year ago I never sold it. Mileage had been dropping so some TLC has occurred. Now at 156k and since work was done I've been back enjoining 30ish mpg again. Lifetime average is 27.9 which is still good in my book!

The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Pretty easily, I've owned a 986s, 944cab, E30 cab and a Miata and spent just about all my time with the top up.

I will trade the Vette in for one when they come out, it looks great and I hate convertibles. Targa for the win!

54 months of ownership, 3rd car wash

I wash mine every week or so, sometimes an automatic, sometimes in the driveway. I had it detailed out once and it looked great! At 141,000 miles my '12 will never look as yours does again!

Mazda5 Wheel Fitment & Photo Guide

Nice, I'm going to revert to 205/50/17 in spring. Even with pulled and rolled rear fenders it hits sometimes on large bumps when I have extra weight on.

The 5 - Relaxing to drive, or what?

Same setup as davicho but I have the JBR rear sway. I can't keep up with my friends in their autocross cars but it's still pretty fun to drive. It is not quick though so it becomes a keeping momentum game.

    Hubs and bearings

I've had the bearrings replaced at the dealer, Mazda parts but they don't seem to hold up well with low offset wheels(nothin will for long). Hubs are still original but the pass side bearing is actually number five @130,000 miles. Ouch
