Thaumaturge glad you are relatively ok. Glad the srs worked as intended. Sorry to hear it is toast.
Sorry to go off topic here, but just wanted to mention that if you need any insurance related...
Do It! 103k on mine and I still use it. I run 5w30 most of the time Mobil 1 full synth (not the extended 15,000 mile stuff, don't buy that) and Mobil 1 filter, oil & filter change every 5k or 1...
Man, I am exactly where you were at. 103k miles on my 08' GT. Perfect vehicle all these years but the thought of the water pump going, and on top of that, all these brake booster failures I'm seeing...
I doubt its valve cover gasket(s). I've not seen or heard of any valve cover gasket failures or leaks on ANY CX-9, including my 11 year old 103k mile engine.
Periodically, I clean my intake tube and...
Rorocars, hope you get it figured out. I will assume you are aware of the all wheel drive failure on the CX-9. (2015 and older) Is yours all wheel drive? If so, start reading all the many many...
Buy a blank one. You can find them with or without an rfid chip. Buy one that confirms it has the rfid chip. Send me a pm. I have instructions in a file drawer that I used back in the day.
Yes. Similar to changing atf fluid on a transmission on the fritz where the gunk is removed and the disturbance of sludge causes failure. Wonder if that principle can be applied to a water pump...
You would likely need BOTH different springs and shocks, and I'm not sure how much those would help your concern. Likely the best thing for you to do might be to look for a different vehicle. The...
Well I still haven't flushed the coolant yet. May do that this week/weekend. Just worried about the water pump...disturbing whats in there now, putting new fluid in and then water pump seal decides...
It is a little different for smart cards vs switchblade type keys. Whole different system with sensors and rfids both in the emergency keys and the cards.
Not to go off topic here, but along the lines of bleeding, anyone here know if we have figured out which Motive adapter will work on the V6 models of the CX-9? I have the Ford/Japanese 3 tab adapter...
Anyone develop an issue with BSM off dash indicator flashing on and off? It seems to happen periodically when driving with driver window down. Cycling the ignition fixes it. Weird gremlin. Curious if...
I think Mazda is losing a lot of CX-9 buyers with a 4 turbo only with no upgrade possible. Looking forward to seeing what they do in the next decade.
Congrats! 08 GT here. Still love it. Let me know if any questions or probs.
Lol. I disagree sir. When we replace our 2008 cx9 some day, I won't be buying one with a 4 cylinder turbo. Which means brand change unless they go back to a V6 or 5 cylinder turbo perhaps. Not enough...
Along those lines, I'm at 102,000 miles 2008. May drain and fill original coolant this year. Thoughts? Is changing fluid a good idea or could it trigger the dreaded water pump explosion?
Good to know. I am currently playing the water pump Russian roulette game on my 2008. Was going to do it this year but too much going on and will try for next year. Where on the motor did you notice...
Toyota T-iv atf fluid is same as motorcraft/Mazda. But Toyota sells it for much less. I have drained and refilled once. I have 102, 000 miles and fwd, she shifts like new still. Mine was somewhere...
Are you fwd or awd?
For what it's worth I just went into the garage and tried the 0117 Motive adapter on my 2008 cx9 and no dice. Need a larger diameter adapter. I just did the Brakes on my Altima and was hoping the...
Old topic. If you can't find answer come back to this thread and tell me if you have a folding key fob or a credit card shape advanced card. Once you tell me the system you have I can help further.
I recommend Sil Glyde high temp siliconized grease for your caliper pins. It was a game changer for my CX-9 and works miracles. Just my opinion. I found it on some forums and bought some for a brake...
Nope. That's it. I've never had this issue but I'm garaged always. Gotta get under there from what I heard. Sorry!
Something smells fishy here. Leaking shock and tire wear on your CX-9 are 2 separate issues. It's concerning they told you tires are due to leaky shocks. Usually one shock starts leaking before the...
