Hi all,
So my CX-5 was towed 2 days ago lost all power.
Was informed there was a crack in the coolant rail. Needed to replace and do a test 1500 dollars to see the extent of damage. So apparently exhaust gas has leaked into the coolant and essentially ruined the cylinder and needs a full replacement.
This car was fully serviced by Mazda and is just shy of 10 years old. They have advised I can proceed with a warranty claim but due to its age after more money and testing to find the root cause will be unlikely to get it covered. Cost of repair would be 10g plus replacement of critical components for peace of mind.
What are your thoughts?
Ps please not I'm not a mechanic so may have not described this problem with 100 percent accuracy. It's is the Akira model 2.2lt diesel
