    2016 CX9 Owners Thread

We are targeting 26psi PEAK, not throughout the entire rev range. Sure it would be way out of efficiency if we are trying to push 26k at 5000+ rpm, but we are peaking 26psi at 2000-2500 tapering to 15psi by rev limit. There is a big difference between trying to maintain 26psi vs a peak boost w/...

There are several maps that will lower boost based on certain things. Raising the boost, when tuned properly, doesn't hurt the engine. This is common practice of manufacturers to limit boost way lower than what the engine / turbocharger is capable of doing.

Just wanted to let you all know OVTune offers recalibrations of the OEM ECU in the CX9 to help boost torque output and horsepower even further. We know the engine feels absolutely amazing stock, with peak boost pressure coming in right at 2000 RPM, However during our testing, driving and...

No they are not self tuning........ What tuners are you talking about that take money to learn on the vehicle at the same time? Sure that happens, but not sure that has anything to do with anything that has been spoken about in this thread. The car does not give itself optimized ignition, afr...

Sounds good, but to be completely fair this would be a first come first serve type of deal.

to be able to switch maps back and forth you'll need the full tune kit. the bench flash is 1 tune wrote to the ecu directly. I can do one for 87 but the power won't be there like 91. How about this. Send me your ECU and pay return shipping, I'll load my bench flash on it for your honest review...

I actually had recorded several run times when doing some testing and WOT runs with Chris_Top_Her's CX5. They were posted on mazda3rev a long time ago i will see if I can pull them up. If not I can probably get someone I am currently tuning to do some runs for comparison. Also I would recommend...

Hopefully everything is okay. Maybe he got a temporary forum suspension or something. In other news our dealer in Saudi Arabia is going to be doing some logging on a 2016 CX5 there to see how the addional engine load from AWD does with heat (ambient 50*C +)

I have not, you'd be surprised but it isn't all that easy to find folks. Back when I offered free dyno tuning for the CX5 for someone local, nobody showed up. Chris_Top_Her has had our tune on both of his cx5's, spanning more than two years now. have also tuned other CX5s but most are...

You know that almost every car in existence leaves power on the table? This is why tuning exists. Mazda has factored elements into the tune that has to do with completely unrealistic scenarios, but because they are there they hinder the performance. For example cam timing maps are extended to...

Sure. I have posted multiple dyno sheets. Many of which validate my claims about how much HP is possible to achieve with a tune. Every single dyno sheet being run, controlled, and completed by third parties. Have posted in depth information on the controls of the ECU, logic, and how it runs. no...

What would that prove? He is a SKyG Master tuner for EcuTek Just as myself and members here have said that means nothing at all. anyways folks. For those truly interested in learning more, I recommend join Miata.net. Lots of good discussion about this stuff.

I have already proven you to be incorrect. We have all had enough of your BS. You have the gall to accuse me of lying, cheating, posting false information, selling snake oil. We have all had enough of your BS. Several members here have seen that you are incorrect and pointed you out on it, not...

Most likely cost. Why pay to write an entirely new calibration for an engine that is 95% identical. Same gains actually. Here is why. The cylinder heads can't flow for crap. They cannot take full advantage. You will probably get more torque with the 14:1 version, but similar top end.
